Default Gravel parking grid / stabilization questions.

Has anybody used any of the plastic landscaping grids before on a gravel driveway or parking pad? Any recommendations? I park my work truck outside my garage on a 30x30 gravel pad and this year my truck has decided to sink a foot and a half into the ground. I want to repair this permanently, and cheaply because I have a thousand other financial priorities.

If you need more material, get recycled concrete rather than road crush.

I haven't, but I'd recommend woven geotech (expensive landscape fabric) and renting one of those tampers.
I don't see how that grid can do much to resist shear compared to fabric, but like I said, I don't have direct experience.

I have heavy fabric under 6” of 8 year old packed road crush. Today my truck sank so bad it pulled the fabric in from 3 ft around my tires. I’m not impressed. Haha. Maybe start a go-find-me for a concrete pad to help in all my hardships? How many foot pics does my wife need on OF to pay for it?

Wow, that's really weird. Possibly something causing extreme moisture in an isolated area is one option. It's def the worst time of the year and some of the softest ground, but still.

You got a pipe of some kind under that pad?

You might have bigger issues than where to park your truck.

I think its from the builders burying their garbage in the original lot. A few years ago I pulled up half a sheet of plywood from a problem area in the back yard. It was 30 years old and perfect condition still. I’m sure my yard would indicate at least 30 unmarked graves.

For an authentic rig mat experience make sure said nails are all pointed upward

Heavy weight combi grid and then finish it off with screened recycled asphalt.

I think I will try raking in 300 lbs of dry concrete mix into the wet gravel, at least the length of the tires tracks. Won’t cost much, like $40 from Home Cheapo.

If this is anything like what I've seen in the past, the root cause is sideways movement of the substrate. Prevent sideways movement with something underneath.
