What the hell, Tom tom going to do street view too? You know I'm all for competition but this is just a total waste of effort.
All I can think is "Wow these guys have rough jobs."
MAYBE if the Google car was an STI and if you could drive as fast as you wanted...MAYBE...Originally posted by HomespunLobster

The new maps system they are using on the new iOS and iPhones are using GPS data provided by Tom Tom. If they want to compete with google, they at least need to be able to do the same things google does.Originally posted by supe

Boosted life tip #329
Girlfriends cost money
Turbos cost money

i am pretty sure google isn't just going to give away all the images they spent years and millions to collect, just to be "fair"... it's the biggest selling point for google maps..Originally posted by supe

Well again I'm all for competition, its the best way to spur innovation which street view is/was. Tom tom isn't exactly a huge company so I hope they're getting a lot Apple dollar help to make this service at least as good as Google street view if not better. Even still mapping the world can't be cheap.
I saw a TomTom van on 17th and 52nd. At first I thought it was a Google van and then was disappointed not to get my car on Street View.
Tell them not to drive down the alley's in the residental areas this time.
Google drove by today. Looks like AGAIN the streetview of my house is going to be me wrenching on the driveway.

Saw it at Center St and Beddington Blvd.
Current street view of that location shows the gas price back then was 82.9

Didnt apple ditch google maps for tom tom? This is bigger than just streetview.
In Evergreen today...
Neighbor said he had already seen the car twice earlier this week in our area.
I saw it on Macleod between Anderson and Southland today!
Apple and Google aren't getting along anymore hence Apple wanting to get rid of Google in the iOS entirely.
Doubt TomTom or anyone would be willing to spend the kind of resources Google put in to their street view and maps though.
JULY 7th: Saw google in country hills, i hope they took a picture of that intersection with my teg in it lol
