    Default Junior IT tech/helpdesk position?

Due to some murmurings here at my current work about cost reduction, I get the sense that, as the most junior person, I may be soon looking for a new place of employment.

As such, I'm putting this request out there to see if anyone has any positions open.

I will have my generic tech resume (company agnostic) up tonight after I finish editing it to current experience.

    What I am looking for:

    -Junior deskside
    -Junior helpdesk
    -Tier 1 remote support
    -Junior bench service technician (IT)

Basically, what I would love to do is work in a team of technicians in single company support (ie internal IT division). I am also very comfortable in MSP-style IT support.

For now, here are the highlights

1 1/4 years IT assistant at a small local MSP
    -Manage/dispatch 2-3 senior technicians daily
-Manage the entire ticketing system, including working some tickets myself
-Manage primary remote monitoring and management solution
-Call clients/receive calls from clients, re: servicing and support
-Attend to other tech support and helpdesk roles

    Experience with:

    -Server 2000, 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 release candidate
-VirtualBox, VMWare, very light HyperV and vmEX6
-All versions of Windows Pro and Enterprise
    -All versions of Office
-Multiple networking vendors including HP, Cisco, Netgear, Netopia, Watchguard

    Certifications:
    -A+ Certified IT Tech
-Watchguard Certified System Professional on XTM 11.4, 11.5 and 11.6 (Applicable to all WatchGuard XTM-branded SOHO, SMB, and Enterprise grade appliances)

My salary expections would start in the $40-$45k range (which I think is realistic for a junior 1 year exp tech).

Please PM me if you have anything! Thanks

EDIT: I should also note that I am doing readings and prep-tests relating to Server 2008 R2, as I am pursuing the MSCP for that.

In this economy and with your experience (lack of, no offense) you would be more likely to get 38-40K a year.

Check the Metafore's, Longview's, SI systems websites.

Well, 40k is in my range :P

I have been checking them, will give it another go with the newly update resume tonight

EDIT: I should mention that my goal with this is to take the "next step" from newbie to junior. If I can, I would love to work downtown or at a major MSP (Longview, Greycon, etc) so that I could progress further up the IT ladder with solid creds behind me

THe situation is no longer as urgent as I was reassured today that I would NOT be laid off. However, please do keep the links coming, I am still actively hunting.

The IT jobs at Telus seem fairly difficult to obtain

Go with your gut, trust your instincts.
They're not going to indefinitely not lay you off if times are tough.
I'm sure the Captain of the Titanic assured everyone that everything was fine and dandy and nothing to worry about. CEO of Blackberry had just recently assured shareholders that the company is not in a "death spiral"... just saying
Someday we may need to activate the halo structure off Deerfoot and destroy the North East.

When I read your post, the first thought that came to my mind was "Then stop going shopping at Steam when you're at work!"

    I kid I kid.

I am a geek, I like making sure other geeks get good deals I've only bought a grand total of maybe 6 things so far, three biggies, three indies/super-sales under $3. I could have easily spent $300+ so far if I got everything I wanted XD

I think its more to do with the slowness of how quickly things happen at Telus rather than difficulty. Theres not a lot of communication from them either.

Check out Metafore. They're always hiring for Cenovus helpdesk. You could end up in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 role.

I just got some PM's this morning, so I am writing here to tell you that no more PM's or offers are needed. I start with my new employer on August 20th

And yes, I did kinda get my "dream job" in the IT technician side of things, so I am double stoked!

So, if the mods want to, I consider this thread
