If a car on a dealership lot gets damaged and insurance fixes it will a claim show up on CarProof?
Area: Thorncliffe
My POS battle tank with some craters, few more on the trunk not pictured...
Will not be submitting a claim.

Both cars were in the garage, so they were fine. Both trucks were outside and luckily, not a single dent!
I did get one hole in the vinyl corner of my siding, though. Not enough to bother with insurance. Off to a big box store for a patch piece and some adhesive!

Only had pea sized hail in McKenzie Towne. No visible damage.
To those looking for ideas for covering up your car if you don't have a garage... try a memory foam mattress topper! They're like 3" thick, you can get em for under $100 if you shop around and It would take mega hail to cause damage through that!

I was working at the airport. We got the pea to marble sized stuff. Thankfully, my Benz got through it without a single dent!
The Jetta at home in Kincora, not so lucky. Just one good one on the trunk. Doesn't worry me, matches the rest of the dents.
Also looks like all the planes got through it safely too.

I know people at work that had their vehicle written off and got to keep the car for free.

Are you sure your comprehensive coverage runs a $1000 deductible? The norm is $250 on the comp and either $500 or $1000 on the collision. It's not impossible but it's not common either.Originally posted by Zero102
Sorry if this has been asked, but I have a $1000 deductible and 15-17 dents on my roof and 1-3 on my hood. Including the whole dimple they are 2cm-4cm across, about 10 are 2cm, 5 are 3cm and just a couple are 4cm.
What would it cost to repair these...? Should I even both with an insurance claim given that the first $1k won't be paid by them anyway? (i.e. will it only come to $1200 and be a huge waste of time?)

Personally I can never claim hail damage ever again on my Lexus unless i can provide Intact with proof that the hail damage was repaired by PDR due to me signing a waiver.Originally posted by 2.2vtec
What prevents people who have a car with prior hail damage not just claiming hail damage saying it happened in yesterdays storm?
MaskedBandit, do insurance companies not report claims or payouts to other agencies?
Just asking as I was wondering if someone goes out to buy a S4 with $20k worth of damage and then repairs it will he be able to sell it as a claim free car? Or will the buyer be able to find a record of the damage on Carfax or Carproof?
Someone posted this on Eurodrivers right now

I got the agreed actual cost value less 35% and your comprehensive deductible.

Really? Cause half of my front bumper and my passenger side fender are pretty fucked lol.Originally posted by 88CRX
They'll pay to repair any panels damaged by the hail.
Same thing happened to a buddy a couple years back. Got hail damage to 50% of the car so insurance paid out for all those hail damaged panels to be repaired and repainted. He added money on top and had the entire car resprayed.
I thought they would ignore the panels with previous damage on them?
Hail Claim is on your record and on the car.
My own history for the car states "HAIL Paid: $xxxx Exp: $0 Loss: Total"
Carproof on my car shows "Point of Impact: NON-COLLISION"

Do insurance companies communicate this stuff with each other. Say one person gets hail on their car and takes the cheque than sells it to somebody else who also tries to claim it on a later hail storm.Originally posted by guessboi

Shady stuff, I was looking at a vehicle for sale last year that had hail damage and the guy took the payout.
Me: That's going to cost quite a bit to fix
Seller: You can wait for the next hail storm and claim it.
