London Summer Olympics 2012

Anyone going to be in London or going through London to get to other destinations during the Olympics later on this month/ August?

We're landing in London the 26th taking a train to Brussels same day then we end up back in London on August 8th, party for a night (hopefully) leave the next day on the 9th. This is all happening via Heathrow, how bad do you think it's going to be?

Well they said right now as athletes are arriving their freaking passport control/customs is taking 2-3 hrs to get through. Yikes.

I'll be there from August 2nd to the 5th. Got tickets to a couple of mens basketball games on Saturday the 4th.

I'm flying into Gatwick airport and leaving on the train to Paris. I'm expecting customs to get into London will be backed up, but who knows for how long. You can bet they'll have extra staff working to get people through, but it will definitely be moving slow. How much time do you have between your flight landing and your train departing to Brussels?

We arrive at Heathrow Terminal 3 at 10:15AM, our train leaves at 12:57PM at the London St. Pancras station. I don't think we're going to make it. OOPS that was poor planning on our part.

What's the fastest way to get to St Pancras?! HELP!!!!

Live in London right now. If you can get the iPhone app called tube deluxe, it will help you get around London. You can also check jptube.co.uk, but the app is much better. Another app that I find helpful is travel deluxe (icon is the red double decker). You just put your location and where you want to go and it will plan your trip for you. Or, I could ask a private taxi for you as to how much it will cost to take you to st. Pancreas, they are generally cheaper than the black cabs.

Great time to be going to Europe. The Euro is at the lowest it's ever been and the British pound (GBP) isn't a heck of a lot higher, either; Though it's obviously a bit more stable. Then again, anything is more stable than the Euro right now.

Wish I could go what some soccer in London, however that's just a pipe dream.

flew through London on July 26, customs, boarder control was a cinch to get through and this was at the heathrow airport. Heading back to London tomorrow for the night.
