It's a quick 15 mins drive from the strip, so the cab or shuttle ride is really expensive in comparison imo. What we did last time was we rented a car for 2 days. First day we used it to drive to the outlet mall shopping ($50 cab ride saved). second day we drove to the race track, then stopped at In-N-Out burger on the way back.

I'm staying at the Super 8 Nellis AFB since I'm only really there for the days of the airshow, and it's literally across the street. So I figure since I'm a 2 minute drive from the track, I really should try it out.

My only concern with the Huracan is with everyone complaining about the Lambos not being tall person friendly...I'm 6'3"ish

^Do the 458 as well if you can. My favourite car from Exotic Racing for sure. The scudderias was "ok", it fell really slow after driving the GTR and the C7.

The 458 doesn't do anything for me. I can't explain why, I just don't get that feeling from it.

Yes, I know it's the fastest car around the track there, but if I'm going to drive one, it won't be the 458.

I loved the Scud. Not sure if they still have it, but I drove the burgundy red with silver stripes and it had a custom exhaust which definitely helped the experience. The car was just so raw, hard to beat IMO.

Since someone bumped this, I'm going back to the Vegas track this Sunday and will be jumping into Hurcan and Aventador

Post how the Huracan is. I'm still undecided.

Hurcan is the best Lambo to date. Fast DCT. Excellent v10 engine note, sounds more raw and louder than Aventador. In Corsa, its behaves like RWD and nannys are almost all off. Sport is more balance. The interior has the theme from Aventador but button layout is all over the place and the painted plastic looks cheap here. Aventador interior looks better to me.

As for Aventador, the single clutch auto is slow on gear switches and its the only down side to the experience. The car is very easy to drive almost a bit boring like the GTR.

Too bad no mp4-12c or any Mclarens in the fleet. Would love to try one out.

Yeh we tried to drive it last year but it was out of commission. Maybe it was breaking down so much that they couldn't afford to maintain it and had to take it out of the line-up

Did this this morning. Swore I was only going to drive one car, ended up doing 3, they offered me a discount on the GT3 to start, so I added that on, did 5 laps in it. Then 7 laps in the Huracan. Then couldn't resist everyone saying I had to do the 458, so I did 5 laps in that too.

    Impressions:

GT3 is absolutely a blast to drive, RIDICULOUS grip. Of the 3 if I had the money to buy one I'd probably buy the GT3.

Huracan is super fast, I got my best lap time in it (by a tenth, although I think if I had done 7 laps in the 458 I would have bested it) of the 3 it feels the most raw. Under heavy braking it gets pretty squirmy.

458 Never did anything for me before, but after driving it I get it. It is just dead simple to drive fast. It goes fast in exactly the direction you want it to with no drama at all.

I'm not a race car driver by any stretch, and I have very limited track experience, but my lap times were:

    Huracan - 56.64
    458 - 56.74
    GT3 - 56.79

I know it seems weird that I'd buy the one I was slowest in (in my dreams), but I think part of that was that it was the first car, had it been the last I think I would have been faster.

I've got the videos, but I'll have to wait until I'm home to upload because the WiFi here sucks.

Go 4 Long, I am going in a week.

What is the best way to book the trip?

Book one car for 10 laps in advance and then let them throw deals at you once you get there?

I've been screwed over for being prepared before, not sure if there are better deals to be had if you do not already have a package. Thanks.

    Oh and 458 or scud?

I've done this both in Vegas and LA. The 458 is by far the best experience, but the new 911 also exceeded expectations too. The Lambo Superlegerra and R8 were a bore and disappointing. The sound out of the 458 is life changing at the top of the RPM band.

The best way to go about this is to get your package ahead of time, head out to the track and negotiate with them while you are there. Everything is negotiable at the track and they usually have one or two cars on 'special'.

All in all it's a great experience for a few hours.

    Cool, thanks!

Can't wait! I really wanted to drive the MP4-12C but it looks like it may not be available

I think they were offering some deals lower than they were online as add ons. The 458, while it didn't do anything for me personally, I will admit it was amazing to drive. And drive the Porsche gt3, it's incredible.

I agree. You can always 'upgrade' your package at the event so I would get the basic package adn then negotiate with them when you get there

When we did it they were offering extra laps (i.e. $40/2 laps) as add-on for a bit less than even the bundled pricing, so it was a no-brainer and I'm glad I didn't book those extra laps in the first place. I don't think they will be so busy that you won't be able to add laps; 2 extra laps is like 3 more mins on the track hah

    Sweet, thanks.

Just booked the GT3 for 5 laps, of course I'll add on more when I get there.

Ideally, I would like to drive the 458, mp4-12c, GT3 and the aventador. Figure that will give me a very solid experience.

Talked to the guys in Vegas and I got a feeling they won't get a McLaren back in the fleet any time soon. They say it spends too much time in the shop.
