After the initial purchase of a unit, how much of a spike in electricity bill did you see?
How about maintaince?

Doesn't matter. Worth it.
My electricity bills are still lower in summer than they are in winter.
I haven't had a house without central A/C for 4-5 years though so I can't tell you what change there is.
Generally speaking, if you run your fan continuously all winter on low speed it will use more power than A/C and fan on high speed running intermittently in summer.
There must be a consumption rating (kilowatt hour) on the unit. The rest is just marth.

I say stupid shit all the time.
The furnace blower only runs on high during a/c, so more power is used there as well.Originally posted by JRSC00LUDE
