    Vietnamese subs were still solid.

There is a Carl’s Junior there now which is a guilty pleasure (they have milkshakes...).

My favourite splurge was hitting the den or whatever it was called for a pint and a burger over lunch during block weeks though

Dunno if any of you guys took the wilderness retreat. But the instructor got on the wrong side of a bear while out for a run in Waiperous. Nuts.

RIP. Not a great way to go.

The police forensics team have cordoned off the area and are on standby until they determine if a bear really does shit in the woods.

Very sad. David was a friend and a great professor.

Wife and young child at home.

I didn’t personally take his course but I’ve never heard someone have a bad thing to say about the guy. Very tragic.

Tragic irony that he got taken out by a bear. Great guy and tragic loss for the community.

His wife was saying the bear pushed him off a 300 meter cliff.

Sounds like a pretty shitty spot for a bear to attack..

I don’t want to be rude or offensive, but the whole story sounded a bit odd to me.

    Snipped from Facebook.

    Dear Family and friends,

This may be my most difficult post I will ever write.

My dear beloved partner David Lertzman passed away on Tuesday May 4, 2021.

For those who would like to know how, here is what we know; for those who already know or do not wish to know the details, please skip to the next 3 paragraphs.

He was trail running, his bi-daily cardio and deep connection with nature. He was attacked by a bear from behind and pushed off a very high embankment (300 meters) and was found near the river. The wounds were consistent with an instantaneous death, so he suffered very little. This was important for me to know.

I had searched for him myself for two hours early in the night and walked right past the point of attack and saw no sign of it. I was looking for a man in trouble and not for a scene of something that had happened. I did not know the risk to myself in that moment, and I am truly blessed that nothing happened to me, as the officers reminded me repeatedly later in the night.

By three in the morning we knew he was no longer with us and that it had been a bear attack. I asked to see him and was told that was not possible and that it would not be good for me to see him as he was. I persisted, with the help of two friends, and 20 hours later I was able to be with his beautiful form and sit with him for the night with Beth Hedva.

We sang all the songs from all the traditions last night, especially his songs. We felt him transition fully to spirit between 3:30 and 5 this morning, the astrological Beltane, close to when he was born 60 years ago. We felt the bear spirit transition, too. It was as if they were wrapped around each other.

These last 36 hours have been both tremendously challenging and cathartic in turn. Thank you to all who have reached out to me to offer support. I will likely take you up on this as I come to land on my feet and get some sleep. There is such a grand community that so loved loves this great man.❤️

We will open up a memorial space on zoom, likely on his birthday, May 15th, for all who would like to gather and tell stories about our brother. There will likely also be a Jewish memorial service via zoom around that time as well. I’ll keep you all posted. Until then, great thanks, great peace, great love.

Death by cliff via Bear? Sounds suspicious... Espcially once you start bringing the astral plane into things

Many years ago me and my wife went on a hike somewhere in K country or BNP. It was a forested, easy hike but it ended up at this cliff with a massive drop. It surprised us.

I know this thread died out some time ago, but its been one of the best online resources available for selecting electives!

I have been accepted into the Accelerated MBA in Fall, 2022, and am looking to pursue a Finance specialization. Are there any other Finance electives that current/former students can recommend, or that I should avoid?

M&A is hard but worth it in my opinion.

I highly recommend Alfred Lehar and Ari Pandez as professors, Yrjo is good too but hard to understand.

It was reasonably difficult to actually get enough finance courses in to earn the specialization, but I didn’t do the accelerated program so maybe that helps. If you want the specialization try to front weight the finance courses as much as possible because there is no guarantee they will be offered later in Your program ( I had a few friends who missed the specialization because of this ).

I didn’t have any finance courses that stood out as bad.
