    Default UofC Support Staff Protests

Nice to finally see a higher learning entity on the other end of being cancelled.
UofC, has always been a terribly run setup with the President filling his pockets on the backs of undergraduates.
    Starting with Harvey Weingarten.

    Union bs is bs.

Same old same old. Boo hoo.

Everyone wants costs to come down, but no one likes how the sausage gets made.

I hear the kind of jobs they are eliminating are in high demand. The world will keep spinning.

We should ask the union why some of their higher paid members aren’t putting up their hands to leave instead of the “vulnerable” members.

What in the fuck, is a vulnerable worker?
EDIT: Is that the same as an essential worker? Because those truly are in high demand. Superstore is hiring.

“Most of these workers are women, people of colour or new to Canada. They earn between $16 and $20 per hour, which is less than a living wage,” says Justin Huseby, president of AUPE Local 052, which represents support workers at the university.
    Apparently everyone but white men.

Well these apparently minimum wage workers have a lot of options for employers that should treat them more fairly. If the university is treating them like dirt, well, it's not a step back to work at Superstore.

I'd tend to side with the idea of whiny students... But can bend on maybe being wrong.
