    Default TRX Suspension Training

With work and life getting busier and busier, I barely get to go to the gym anymore, so I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience using the TRX Suspension Training kits.

I've watched a few videos on YouTube, but I'm just wondering if anyone on beyond uses this and if they seen any good results? Any input is appreciated

Mine just came in the mail which is incredible considering I ordered it yesterday early afternoon. Paid the extra 1.xx for express shipping with Purolator (or 19.xx for UPS for the same fucking service!! Go die in a fire UPS).

Let you know how it goes. I can't really see myself bulking up at all with it but better than sitting on my ass or doing halfass workouts I guess If you're in town I'd definitely try to find time to hit the gym instead.

I made my own for around $30-$40, based on several youtube videos showing how to do it. I don't use it that much so I'm glad I didn't go all out and by the TRX system, which I almost did.

But it is a nice way to do rows while my back is trying to recover.

It's not bad. You're not going to get jacked using TRX but you can build a bit of muscle and maintain what you've got. And can do a full body workout. I like using them for balance on plyomentrics as well. I'll use TRX with my clients maybe once every 5 sessions or so.

I just did the first workout in the book and it's pretty...ok. Bench is mega awkward and I feel it almost all in my tri's and shoulers and not at all in my chest, squats I could work harder without it just putting my arms out in front of me, hamstring workout is none existent. Planks are alright, bi's and tri's are nice, rows are pretty slick. Some of the flexibility stuff is handy but I think they make exercises to use the TRX vs. yoga-type positions where no equipment is required.

It's just the first workout but had I known this all before buying it I doubt I would have bought it. Oh well have it now, might as well see how it goes. My impression so far is that it focuses on stabilizer muscles rather than major muscle groups themselves which is pretty zzzzz but handy in the long run I guess.

This tool is great and you can do quite a few advanced things with it. If you have it hooked to your door its really limits what you can do with it tho. Some of my favs are

    Super Atomic Pushups
    1 legged lunges
    1 arm rows (underneath)
    1 legged burpees

If you have it in your door tho say goodbye to anything even somewhat hard

I just started a thread about this. I use it at the gym all the time, and you can actually purchase one from Go Mango Fitness, it's a knock off brand called Axis, but I just got it and it's great!!

I find it works awesome for a lot of different fuctions. I can do an entire body workout with it.

Also, you can purchase a x anchor, so you can anchor it to the roof. That way you aren't stuck with it in your door. If you're unsure about purchasing it, go to a gym and give it a try. But do your research first.

Here is a great work out!!

TRX Suspension Trainer is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and your body weight to perform hundreds of exercises. You're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise - because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.

They have these at World Health and I've used them a few times. It definitely gives you a workout that I've never felt before.

Tried this today at work. I figured an active recovery day at best but with the atomic push ups, jump squat tabatas I was surprisingly feeling it. Looks like i found something new to do once a week.

just bumping this as I bought my suspension training kit on Amazon for under $30 and it finally arrived last night
    http://www.amazon.ca/WOSS-Tube-Suspe...ension+trainer
I was initially planning on building my own following the guide on rosstraining site, but then on his youtube video someone recommended the Woss training kit and it's cheaper than making my own.
although the main strap that you tie on a beam or on a door is only 1 inch thick so I think I might go buy a 2" thick strap for peace of mind.

researching right now what exercises i will be doing right now

    Some of my favs are

Pushup with Knee Crunch (Feet in)
    Reverse Flys
    Flys
    Single Arm Rows
    Pikes
    Single Leg Lunges (foot in)
    Single Leg burpees (foot in)
    Planks (hands or feet in)
Ab Rollout (same motion as ab roller)

There is some pretty "advanced" stuff you can do on these and if used correctly can challenge even the most elite athletes

^haha thanks for those, I consider some of those as advanced already.

2 days now and loving it, perfect for a quick 20-30min workout at home.

I have 2 basic routines that I'm doing right now

    1
    chest press
    trx row
    one leg lunge
    squat/front lift
    curl biceps
    triceps extension

    2
    ice skater
    chess press - raise knees
    row n kick
    sprint
    one leg lunge w/ jump
    post fly n front lift

and a list of the advanced that I'm looking to do in a month or so where I can add some of the exercises that you recommend

    row planks
    body rotations
    pike
    bosu pike
    rows
    Y's (reverse)
    T's
    roll outs
    split jumps
    squat jumps

If you go to the gym I think its a great tool for accessory movements and stuff. The main drawback tho to really take full use of it you need to mount it to the ceiling not a door

Recently learned how to do handstand push ups on them the TRX is pretty legit the more you learn how to use it.
