Anyone downloading an OS update directly to their iPhone really needs to think first and then act. How is this the fault of Apple? Darwin at work.

Damn, sounds like Canadians were having issues with getting and setting up the new phone. Wifey pre-ordered last weekend. Got them on launch day at noon (10am Calgary) Backed everything onto cloud the morning of. Sync'd itself within 15mins (AT&t --> Verizon) and we were set with LTE and all. The navigation is horrible on it. Did a test from home to my office and turns out that my firm moved from Wall Street to Woodbridge NJ
Overall I love the design of it. We upgraded from 3GS to 5 so tons of "new" features for us. I was originally thinking about the Samsung S3. That may have great features but its a bit more chunky. I will play with the 5 till next friday and decided which one to keep.

Just confirmed that it synced the data usage from my iphone 4 but didn't sync the reset data. still a used a bit of data from the GPS downloading satellite maps and not the vector ones, have to make sure the phone screen goes off once I connect to bluetooth

Better get a case for your new iphones!
Note to self..... Don't smash my keys repeatedly on my iphone...... I'll try to resist no matter how much I want to purposely destroy my phone.Originally posted by KRZY403

I think it could be an issue if you keep keys and the iPhone 5 in the same pocket, which I do. My iPhone 4 is scratched to shit, same issue, but really, phones are pretty much disposable these days, they're obsolete after 2 years.

Get a bulky case. Or you can get a satin 3M film cut for the rear and a Power Support Anti glare for the front and pretend this never happened.

Thanks for the input.
So far battery life seems the same as the 4s for me but the wife is burning through battery in under 8 hours.

I'm sure some of you know this by now but here is a site you can follow regarding the scuffing of your Iphone 5.
Perhaps Apple may submit to the pressure of all these complains, similar to the antennae issue of the previous generation(s).

My god people will complain about anything. Better start wrapping your phones with Saranwrap...
It's amazing that people will bitch about this, and demand apple to do something about it, meanwhile they have no problems buying a brand new car with paper thin paint/clearcoat, where it actually does seriously kill appearance and re-sale value.

Eeep! I ain't on this ship to drive up Apple's ass (If directed at me, that is).
Just thought I would put this up, perhaps something may be done by Apple.
I can see their reasons for complaining though. Have any of you had issues when un-boxing your Iphone? Some people have gone through 1-3 phones at stores like Apple to ensure they get at least an exchange. Some of the phones the "Geniuses" and Apple CSRs were appalled that Apple would even package the phone and send it out.
Like many of you have said, if my phone came with a super minor scratch that isn't very noticeable, then I don't really care to get anything done.
I wonder if you can make the phone have a brushed metal look
people need to really stop bitching and complaining about this, nearly all old ipods had aluminum backs and were notorious for letting dust under the screen and scratching. Then when the glass backs came out everyone complained that it was going to shatter really easily, now they want it back
I got an e-mail yesterday saying mine was shipped and I will get it on the 1st! It was the 9th all along I thought. A very pleasant surprise!
Benyl, your's should be shipped too, I am assuming?

nope, not yet... Dammit! haha, I don't care.
It isn't like my current phone stopped working when the iPhone 5 came out.
