Some of it is kind of dry because the computer aspect of it I don't find that interesting. But it's well written and entertaining, definitely recommend it.Originally posted by Jlude
I need to pick that up... liking it? What you thought?

Nope. I'm on Fido too and it's been sending both SMS/MMS just fine. Have you tried going to the Apple store to figure it out?Originally posted by roopi
Anyone having issues with sending pictures via SMS/MMS? Just set my wife's phone up on Fido and all pictures seem to fail. I've been reading about the issue but can't figure it out.
No I haven't. I verified with Fido that MMS is setup, did alot of reading online and still no luck.Originally posted by TC2002

I've determined that the issue is only with sending to non iphones. When she send to other users with iMessage it seems fine. If I turn iMessage off it still won't send pictures via regular MMS.
Fido told me that there needs to be a 3G/LTE connection and not wifi for MMS to work. So I turned of wifi and still nothing.
I see that there is no way to edit the APN settings in these new iPhone's or did they move the settings? I guess I'll try the Apple store. I've never set foot in one and I'd really rather not. From what I've read online they haven't done anything to fix the issue for people either.

Hm... the best customer service I had from Apple (Chinook) was from a guy named Jeffery. Not sure if you can request reps, but when I went in to deal with some questions about my iphone 5, he was very thorough during the one-on-one session time and made sure every aspect of it worked before I left the store.
Thx I'll give it a try.Originally posted by TC2002

Try going into settings, and then messages and enabling MMS messages.
Is the jailbreak out anytime soon?

Found these instructions on a forum to fix the battery issue:
anyone know how to restore the pictures/settings/data using itunes without doing a full backup restore? The solution is to NOT load your new iPhone from back up. Here are the steps that 100% fixed my problem.
Connect to your computer and iTunes.
Do a reset by holding the home and power button.
Right when your phone turns off, let go of the POWER only.
iTunes will then recognize and iPhone launching in recovery mode.
Restore the factory settings as prompted.
Load every thing individually from the cloud, iTunes, but don't restore from back up.
It takes a little extra work but my phone is a juggernaut now

Your tears fuel me
I picked my iPhone 5 up the first day it was released and my sleep button is already acting up. If i press it it only works when it wants to and it is getting extremely annoying.
I'd bring it back to apple to get it replaced but i purchased a screen cover which came out to about $40 after install. I call apple to see if they can give me a new screen protector or issue me a credit to cover its cost, but since they don't sell screen protectors, nor recommend them, they said that i am basically SOL.
Such a piss off that a brand new, never been dropped, mint condition phone would have something go wrong with it already.

Where did you guys purchase the lightening cable? Looking for a cheap alternative to apples store...online or a physical store, no preference.
They were sold out everywhere last week but i ended up finding one at koodo in market mall. It came to $22 after tax for the cable only.
Screen protectors can be reinstalled, at least the three brands I have used you can do so.Originally posted by beyond_ban

How do you load individual items off of cloud or itunes? Is it possible to just load photos, msgs, contacts all separately? Some guidance is appreciated.Originally posted by sabad66

IOS 6.01 is now available too bad it doesn't address the battery issue.
