Angry Someone Drilled Out My Bike's Ignition

Ugh, was going to take the bike for a spin this morning and walk out to find this:

So that leads me to my questions:

    A) I can't move the bike at all, the steering column is still locked, anyone know who to talk to about getting it towed? Any recommendations?

    B) Anyone recommend a good shop to carry out the repairs?

    TIA

what the hell that is gay. You can probably still manage to get the bike up on a trailer or bed even with the steering lock on. I imagine most of the shops around town could replace the ignition barrel? Good luck with it.

You can get it towed, but I wouldn't. I have an S10 that I can use to pick up & drop off your bike with.
Either Redline or Blackfoot are pretty good, but I dont know if Blackfoot is swamped, but its damn near impossible to get a hold of them. I called Friday finding out my rear tire is flat (must have ridden over a nail) and come late Sat they still haven't returned my calls. With Redline they could do it RIGHT away. $65 to replace the rear finding it the old one couldn't be plugged.

The truck is quite low, so grab some 2x4's, nail/screw them together and that could work as a ramp. Its not hard to move it while the steering is locked, you just have to keep sliding it over to the right. I've done it before, its not hard. At least that'll save you $70-90 for a tow, which you can put towards a new ignition tumbler.

Just PM me if you want to go that route.

Holy shit, that looks bad! Lucky that the would be thieves are complete amateurs or your bike would have been gone.

Get an ignition from Rocky Mountain Honda on order right away. All the other shops are going to have to order one from them anyway so you might as well be proactive and get one on order. Tell them to order the bolts for it as well, they're a special break away type that keeps people from getting the ignition out easily..

This should be a pretty easy fix. maybe 1.5hours?

exact same thing happened to me a few years back at the brentwood train station, I did what everyone on here has suggested, got some buddies and a truck picked it up put it in, when I got home took the whole front cowl off and removed the ignition with security torx bits wasn't very hard to replace biggest pain is having 2 identical keys 1 for the ignition 1 for the gas tank and rear storage

If you take your new ignition, with an old key to heads lock and key he can rekey the new ignition to match the rest of your bike.

I even hitchhiked to the library once cuz my parents were too lazy to drive me haha. Ya, I'm a nerd.

why didnt they take the bike? can you try unlocking the steering with a screw driver? i wonder if it was drilled right? if they drilled to far it wont work or to little (left pins in) it wont work even to high or low it wont work.
