2013 Honda Accord Sedan/Coupe

I have been an admirer of the accord coupe lately and now that they have revealed the new models I am quite impressed. The coupe doesn't look as sharp imo as the previous gen but the sedan looks far better. This is a very important car for Honda to compete with the new offerings like the Camry, passat etc. especially after the beating the civic took in reviews. No mentions of engines or transmissions though, I would assume still the same as the last gen. I believe I read somewhere they were switching to CVT instead of the auto though for the fuel economy benefits?

Pretty much, old design was kind of more bubbly though. IMO it is kind of a more style version of last gen while retaining a very similar shape. More angles on panels and better looking lights. I assume the interior will be quite different though. I think the new CRV is an improvement over the last though and the Civic coupe I like especially the SI with or without the HFP pack but the sedan looks like the really old prius sedan.

I wasn't expecting anything radical from Honda when redesigning the Accord. It's very similar to the old model.

The current Accord coupe was a total stunner when it came out but this does nothing to advance that. Looks just like the equally tame 2012 Civic 'redesign'.

As for powertrains, the new Accord will be the first model to receive the brand’s new Earth Dreams engines, with a base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a larger 3.5-liter V6, both featuring direct injection. With manual transmissions available for both, the V6 will get a 6-speed automatic while the 4-cylinder will receive a CVT.

The V6 Accord needed one of those. The 5-speed automatic in the current generation sucks.

It got uglier, at least the coupe. The coupe's rims also reminds me of the ones for the FR-S

I thought the Accord V6 Coupe was awesome... until I drove it. That thing just has way too much difficulty putting power to the ground. The wheels spin all day.

If Honda played any safer their design studios would be housed in bubbles. I realize that Honda could re-release the 1991 Accord as a 2013 model and they would still sell boatloads but the competition is improving and eventually their marketshare will erode.
