There are already bums roaming around aspen getting cans from blue bins at 6 am.

I'll tell my grandman and grandpa to stop asap....back to Cougarridge they go.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I know... and they are getting there on the bus!!
If you go to signal hill, there are dozens of shopping carts at the main bus stop from bums using transit to get around to collect cans and bottles.
I can't even imagine what is going to happen to that area once the train goes in. At least the bus ticket costs money and keeps the numbers down... the train is literally a free ride.
Those aren't bums. They are just the old Asian people living with their kids.Originally posted by benyl

Based on the threads that have popped up on here about Aspen lately I'm more concerned about the reverse; keep trouble up in Aspen and out of the inner cityOriginally posted by nzwasp
Are you also in the same boat with the people in aspen that don't want the train line extended into aspen because it will bring crime up?

LOL - As I was leaving for work at 5:30am one morning there was a guy going through a few of the neighbour's blue bins. He didn't care one bit that I knew he was there and what he was doing, just kept going about his buisness. As I drove around teh corner his beat to shit car was parked a bit up the road.Originally posted by benyl

Looking to buy a house in ASPEN acers. there are some lots which will have power cables probably 100-200 ft away from their backyard. is it a problem? I was talking to another builder in the same Area (not in ASPEN Acers) and he told me that lots are bit cheaper in ASPEN Acers because of power cables. People dont want to buy in ASPEN according to this builder.
I dont trust builders at all. so thought of doing some research by myself but couldnt find much help.
anyone is looking into buying in Aspen Acers and thought about power cable issues or I am just over reacting? Any general comments about the area?
This is what I found when I lived in Arbour Lake, would be out walking the dog at 5.30am on garbage day and see some old chinese dude taking cans out of my bin.Originally posted by sputnik

I haven't seen anyone in Montreux poking around bins.
What distance is considered "close" to power lines? 100 ft, 200ft?Originally posted by JordanLotoski
Personally I wouldnt build backing or close to power lines, Pay the few bucks more for a better lot. I think youll be much better off when you sell down the road.
I have a hell of a time selling any of the homes in Tuscany near the power lines
Whats the lot price difference between those lots and a decent one?
ugh, Webber has started again. The summer was so nice without the long lines of traffic. haha

^^^ugh, tell me about it. I live near the new playground they put up in the Spring and I have all the damn webber parents trying to drive around me because I dare to drive at 30 in the playground zone. A warning to all Aspen dwelling folks, I'm going to call CPS and tell them they need to set up a radar trap in peak times to teach these people to slow down.
Yesterday someone tried to drive around my husband while in the zone.
Webber parents are all rich people. They don't obey the law.

Was it in the morning or afternoon? Don't forget that Playground zone doesn't start until 8:30am, and parents need to drop off their kids BEFORE 8:30am. With that said, no one has the right to pass you on a single lane road.Originally posted by nickyh

5pm, so well within the time limit. I've had moms try and drive around me as well but I can make my car very big if I want to.
How much could this possibly make? I saw old people on the C-Train system all the time with a bag full of cans but that can't possibly make a decent wage.Originally posted by nzwasp

Not sure really. Maybe they just hoard them all each thursday in their garage then drive the beamer down the road to return them.Originally posted by toastgremlin

I saw a homeless guy on 10th ave se the other day with 8 garbage bags full hanging off his shopping cart - I reckon he had about 100$ or so there.
Whenever I returned cans I probably have had 2 or 3 garbage bags full and only gotten $20 worth so now I never bother.
