What ram is better?

ok what woudl you think would be better?

768 of PC2100
or 512 of pc2700


I have a AMD xp 1800+, had 256 pc2100 running windows XP

Bought 512 of PC2700 which totals 768 MB but it defaults to pc2100 speedsince the 256 stick is pc2100 . But I was wondering if I'm better off with 512 of Pc2700, and removing teh 256mb stick of pc2100.

And is ther a way to figure out if my MB even takes PC 2700?

PC2700 is faster
but really depends if ur motherboard suppose it or not
if not then ur PC2700 will just run @ same speed as PC2100

well I know pc2700 is faster. And I know the 512mb pc2700 will go down to pc2100 because of the other stick of pc2100.

But is 768MB of slower ram better than 512 of faster ram. that si my question.

Because if the 512 is better, I can just remove the pc2100 and run 512 on pc2700.

but if 768 of pc2100 is better I'll keep it al in there.

don't worry, I just found out my MB only takes up to PC2100 ram. So I guess I'm sticking with 768.
