If you intentionally hit her, you'll still be at fault. If you hit her but tried to avoid it, you're okay.

    Wrong x10000000.

This has been stated over and over and over. Right in the drive handbook, and rules of the road, a jaywalker does not have right of way. If you smoke a jaywalker, NOT your fault.

Well considering after your last video and saying u-turns aren't legal when they are in certain circumstances....

I am talking about intentional vs. unintentional, which is also what you quoted me on.

Even you got charged with careless driving when you tried to scare that pedestrian, so why deal with all the crap trying to get off it and waste your own time? Even in a common sense standpoint, why would you intentionally try to hit someone if you can avoid it? Think about it this way; would you intentionally hit someone in front of a cop and not expect to be pulled over and ticketed?

Pretty sure he was not guilty on that charge, hence his position.

I don’t believe there’s anything in the laws that dictate intention when it comes to jaywalking. Probably a whole bunch of other laws would apply if you intentionally hit a jaywalker. A good lawyer will probably be able to get you off, but probably not worth the money to prove a point.

Yeah for sure. That's why I mentioned in my post about why do it and then waste all that time trying to get off it. And even then, you might or might not get off it depending on the circumstance/lawyer, etc.

Anyone that drives into one of those deserves it, bikers twice as much. So easy to just ride around the side.

Wrong x a billion plus one

    Yielding to pedestrians

41(1) A person driving a vehicle shall yield the right of way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a crosswalk.

    (2) Where a vehicle is stopped at a crosswalk to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway, a person driving any other vehicle that is approaching the stopped vehicle from the rear shall not overtake and pass the stopped vehicle.

    (3) At any place on a roadway other than at a crosswalk, a person driving a vehicle has the right of way over pedestrians unless otherwise directed by a peace officer or a traffic control device.

    (4) Nothing in subsection (3) relieves a person driving a vehicle from the duty of exercising due care for the safety of pedestrians
Notice that last part? It is still the drivers responsibility unless they can prove the person came out of nowhere

I've ridden through that same bus trap on my bike - that should be a no brainer but many cruiser/chopper/HD riders dont seem to have one.

I did it all the time on my KLR only very early in the morning as cops do sit there. I am a competent rider and wouldn't attempt it on a cruiser/chopper it would be sketchy for sure. This guy looks like hes right in the middle haha, but maybe he fell in.

Dash cam thread reminded me that I never posted this one a few weeks ago.

First time I encountered this where someone goes the wrong way on this type of road in the city.

Backstory: I was waiting for the train to clear the roadway in between Blackfalds and Red Deer. I stopped and I see this chick about 2 cars ahead of me poke their head and shoulders out their sunroof. Then she climbs completely out of the sunroof and onto the roof and starts dancing. haha. She danced for quite a while. I was listening to Bran Van 3000 which really tops off the video. Now, I assumed she was with other people. But when I caught up to her in north Red Deer, she was actually alone, dancing in the drivers seat. and she was driving like a total methed out maniac. Swerving back and forth across the entire roadway, getting inches away from others rear bumpers, slamming on the brakes.

To have 2 cars cut me off and the one force their way by beside an ambulance. Unreal

Not sure if its worth calling CPS or just calling it good by bitching and moaning on here...
