Well, despite only moderate damage, the Jag is a write-off. That's my second time writing off an XF in as many years.

Sometimes a write-off is the best thing. People obsess over collision repairs and in the end are never satisfied. A fresh start is best.
Another jaaaaaag?

I don't really know all the details of the damage, but it was upwards of 16k. I'm pretty sure I could repair it for less, but not certain it's worth my time/trouble.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Extraslow (Can't double quote for some reason): You're right - with that much damage it can go on it's merry way. I have no idea; I have been eyeing XF-R's, but given how much of a damage magnet both my Jaguars seemed to be I'm supersticiously hesitant.
Get a brighter coloured vehicle. Proven to have less accidents (eg. yellow).
A vehicle thats the same colour as air superiority aircraft (gray) is bound to be less noticeable.
Also put lots of reflectors all over it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
ambulance
Yep. There's an ambulance with it's lights flashing and signal on. Then there's you who's ignoring the law and not pulled over to the side of the road.
I see a turn signal and an ambulance cutting over multiple lanes. No emergency lights on though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No lights... no siren.. cuts across 3 lanes of traffic. Only has signal on.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Driver is a douche and I would be reporting it and submitting that video.
Had to rewatch a few times to catch that, damn!!!
What video are you watching? Good reaction and mind reading by the cars driver. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

While I agree the ambulance driver was in the wrong, OP's reaction to the situation was shit.
Open your fucking eyes. The guy almost tboned the ambulance, the only worse reaction would have been if he hit the ambulance (which he very, very nearly did).
Hardly, the ambulance length was half way up the car when it veered into the op's lane, that wasn't even close to being a tbone on the op's part, more like a sideswipe on the ambulance's part. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

A different one apparently, lol. I swore the lights were flashing when I saw this on my phone. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think it was the white side signals that threw you off.
Is there indicators inside emergency vehicles to show what's on or off? I've seen emergency vehicles go through reds with nothing flashing and the flipside, cops cruising along sipping Timmie's with the emergency lighting on.

Who would have been at fault for a non-code 3 maneuver like that? Even if the lights and sirens were going, a sharp lane change like that is retarded. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That was definitely poor driving on behalf of the ambulance driver. Right up until the end, it appeared that he was just changing lanes to the right... he was way too late to be reasonably targeting the exit lane, then he just yanked er over.
Not Calgary but just coming into Salmon Arm today.... sucks he didn’t have chains on.
Professionally Retired
That's an expensive mistake.
