That car was playing pokemon go...it's been pretty bad in the North end of downtown lately. Cars stopping/breaking sporadically so their app can refresh. Idiots.

That's what I'm wondering, no horn, no Jake brake in the video. But I wouldn't have even moved that far over in the first place, it's hard but I've learned to hold my line if there was another lane or something the truck is always at fault it seems.Originally posted by rage2
Pretty sure he saw the whole thing unfold at first since he did move left almost to the rumble strips. Must've lost sight of her afterwards when she kept going.
not sure if this is even worth posting
......
Almost side swiped by this Canada Cartage transport truck in BC over the weekend.
To be fair I posted this just because the day before I had another taxi do the same thing but by the time I was able to take a picture the light was green
Dash cam was off that day
That looked painful.
Also I can't help but feel like that Chrysler 300 drove forwards and was somehow surprised to see the accident there. As if it wasn't visible from where it was before entering the intersection.
I'd be curious how insurance would handle this one. It looked like the van had given pretty decent space between the two vehicles, but when you get hit at near full speed by a transport trailer, I don't think you're getting away and not rear ending the guy in front of you even with 5+ car lengths betweenOriginally posted by Khyron
Transport truck guy must have been texting or sleeping.
I left a bit of "pre-crash" footage to show it was moderately busy so of course you don't want to block the intersection.
Looks pretty clear to me as the truck's fault. Nothing the vehicle in the middle could have done.Originally posted by Brent.ff

Forgive the $15 eBay potatocam, which handles sunrise and sound equally ineptly.
I think the framerate and low quality doesn't do justice to how much traffic there was, and how fast this guy was actually going.
Strangely enough, there was a ghost Explorer about 3 cars ahead of me. He did nothing - but considering the heavy traffic and the speed of the bike, there was really no much he could have done.

^ That was pretty fast to be splitting lanes, but the action of splitting lanes itself is alright.
(Not trying to start a debate.)

Alright in what way... by law? If it is against the law (and as far as I know, lane splitting isn't legal in Alberta) it is NOT alright. Especially not going 180+kph. Look at the reaction of everyone with braking and swerving. He freaked a lot of people out. There is nothing "alright" about that.
I see people changing lanes all the time without notice of any kind. All it would have taken is for someone to do that and this guy is dead. I had no idea he was coming until he was already up on me, and I had a slight advance notice since I had my moonroof open and heard him just before I saw him pass.

That's why I said it was pretty fast to pull such a maneuver. But the maneuver itself isn't that bad. Hate on the speed, not the pass.
I'm agreeing with you. His speed was atrocious to pull something like that.

As a regular way of riding, thats a quick way to end your riding career.
I've only ever done this once at highway speeds, and that was only after some clown decided to pull into the passing lane in front me at the last moment.
I have been seeing it more and more in Calgary. Twice today on Deerfoot in fact. I shake my head every time, and I am just waiting for the time I come around a corner to see them as a red stain on the pavement.

Finally got around to compiling the last couple of months.
Stupidity is a disease we all have, it's like a form of brain herpes. Outbreaks will occasionally occur.
not really a bad driver vid (unless you think i should have instant reflexes) but thought it would go here
Caught a skunk driving out to Chestermere one night the same way, dark road and suddenly sprints infront of me. Managed to clip it with the corner of the bumper and somehow didn't break anything. Launched the poor bastard though. Sucks that you got the damage from the hit.Originally posted by rp_guy

Quick motorcycle and stupid Veloster. Lane was empty behind me, once I saw their signal I went to move into the left lane since they weren't waiting for me to pass.
Testing my go pro setup on the drive home during rush hour, decided to drive at the speed limit on Crowchild.
So sketch lol. Tailgaters, aggressive passes and lane changes. This isn't even free flowing traffic, this is fucking rush hour where I was literally fucking up all the traffic behind me.
I feel sorry for anyone that tries to follow the rules on a regular basis.
