With the prevalence of dashcams, I'm surprised we don't see a whole lot more.

I witnessed something similar a few years ago. Dude stops for the light, waits, then goes at the most bonehead time, but somehow manages to get away with it.

In the case of my scenario, he was swerving all over the road as well, so I ended up calling the cops on the guy, assuming he was drunk or something. They didn't seem to care much...

If you look at the time stamps I was at the red light for 40 seconds which seems pretty normal for downtown? I guess you save time by running red lights so you can just sit at the next red light.

6th ave is timed to go green all the way thru till that stretch. Then it's 2, sometimes 3 stops for 3 lights. You can speed like crazy from 8th street to beat the red, or run that red to avoid the 2nd/3rd red. It's not the amount of time you sit at a red, it's that you have to even stop at all.

I'm not justifying red light running, but I totally get their mentality there. That section's light timing is fucking frustrating. The funny part of it all is, that Porsche didn't even make it haha. I dunno wtf the element was trying to achieve.

I drive this stretch of road way the fuck too much. Pre-Covid, this whole section was a disaster (c-train prioritization fucking shit up even more) which was the root cause of 6th Ave backlog all the way through downtown.
