The truck totally ran a red light.
Aside from the truck running the red, the rest seemed quite as one should expect - the driver of the VW may have waited just a bit because of the big, boxy Calgary Transit bus in the left lane that would've obscured what was coming up in the right lane where your motorbike was, can't really fault them for that.

I can see your point but respectfully disagree.
Nothing should have been coming because it was very much a red light by the time I got up to the stop line.

Red light didn't seem to stop the truck from going through, just saying.

Damn... I was hoping you'd come back with another argument so I could say those words. I was ready to put it to bed.
If anyone in this video is the bad driver it's me, but a close call I thought I would share anyway.
As you can tell from the video, I get in between a large truck and a line of traffic, when the line of traffic slams on their brakes I have to try to not hit the person in front of me but also try to not out brake the large truck behind me.
Interesting though reviewing the video, looks like the Volvo has two stage brake lights, kinda neat. Glad I didn't shatter them all over the road.

same as on the X5. Regular brake lights then extra lights that go on if you stomp on them (the brakes).
Just caught this first one on the way home from work today.
Mr F150 first illegally u-turns at a green light intersection (into me/oncoming traffic)...then proceeds to try and 'crash' into me after I honk him...really? /faceplam
Next one...just pure stupidity?
Guy turns into wrong side of road/median, then sits in the OPPOSITE left turn lane waiting to turn left haha...WTF!
Last one, just another 'everyday' Calgary driving no shoulder check/near miss...woman driver was busy talking with her passengers/eating.
PS - Ignore the watermarks on vids, testing out which program I like best to use.
Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Wow! Close call. And yep, and with any european car, if you see the second set of brake lights come on (adaptive brake lights in BMW speak), you know they're braking HARD! Close call, glad you were ok.
How do you guys edit your videos? I need to cut mine down to the nitty gritty.
I use a GoPro and it breaks the entire video into 17 min long segments. (Recording at 60fps at 1080p)
I then upload to iPhoto on my MacBook Pro, copy the segment with the action in it to my desktop, close iPhoto, open iMovie, drag and drop into a new event, trim video down to the action, add any other text or whatever, finalize video in HD, upload to youtube.
Done.
Not sure how everyone else's car-cam's work. But thats how I do it.

My Blackvue cuts the videos into 1 minute chunks as it records. I just import the piece I need into my movie editing program and trim it. On the rare occasion where a situation occurs across two chunks, loading them both into the video editor back-to-back works perfectly with a seamless transition from one chunk to the next.

Do you lose anything in the transition? My cheapo dash cam loses about a second or two going from one segment to the other.
