I do it all the time.

    Yeah me too

Where McKnight turns into John Laurie (and vice versa), the corners before Kensington heading eastbound on Memorial, even Crowchild onto eastbound Memorial are a couple of my favourites. Forget about "almost into the adjacent lane". I'll go right into the lane if nobody's around just to make the turn haha

If you had that on camera, I would have sent it to the CPS. Thats almost as bad as them racing for donuts in Douglasdale a few years ago.

Going Code 3 for break is not cool.

How are car enthusiasts not going to know about the racing line.

    Every. Single. Opportunity.

I even walk on sidewalks, hallways on the racing line.

I draft people before passing. It subconscious.

Once a chick called me out for walking up on her and quickly cutting left, then rubbing the wall.

We both arrived at the same place but I was in 1st position.

I explained the racing mentality. She just shook her head, "gotta have a hobby I guess." nah, it's a lifestyle.

I just think some people are born with a sense of how to get somewhere quick.

The "lines" depend on which vehicle I am driving :

At the end of the day, the core of the problem is too low of a speed limit on Crowchild. That or cops need to enforce it 24/7 to get people to actually drive at 80 because nobody does it today, even in rush hour. It's arguably more dangerous to actually drive at the speed limit because there's huge speed differentials between the speed limit driver and every other car on the road.

And for fucks sake don't use photo radar as an enforcement tool. While I haven't seen one lately on Crowchild, the last time there was one under 53rd street it was mayhem with people coming from Shag trying to accelerate to merge and everyone slamming on the brakes in the 3 lanes creating some ridiculously sketchy merges.
    Totally agree on this...
Just got ticketed going 104km passing somebody doing 8*km/h in the middle lane. Tried to pass quick and slow down to 90km/h. Still got pulled over and it sucks but whatever I'll pay up and move on.

Man, it would've been great to have audio that captured the BMW driver explaining why he had such a huge brain fart.

edit: had speakers turned down, BMW guy was just an idiot - back story here, link.

BMW driver is not very bright but I can kind of see why he was frustrated. When the car ahead goes against the basic rules of the road and let another vehicle that has a Stop sign to go instead of driving through the intersection given that the vehicles in front are long gone. If the cars in front weren't moving or if there are no vehicles behind, it is fine to let someone into the gap but when the cars in front are long gone and there is a queue of vehicles behind it just wastes everybody's time. The school bus driver took a while to get going because he wasn't even expecting to be let in.

Plus if the driver didn't wait for the bus, the BMW would've been through the light before it was even yellow, with probably another car or two getting through as well.

Yeah but the amount of time he gunned it wouldn't have made no difference. The BMW guy was going to hit something at the speed he was going, either up over the curb or the camera vehicle. One can see this shit every day and you have to shake your head at the impatience people have sometimes just to gain one car length in traffic. It is really quite laughable.
