    Default Bringing motor boat houseboating

Hey guys, I'm going houseboating in September and I plan to bring my boat with us for wakeboarding, tubing etc.

Has anyone done this? If you have how did you tie it up at night?

I was thinking an anchor but isn't the shushwap deep?

why not just tie it off to the houseboat?

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Worried that if it gets windy at night or storm kicks up it will crash and bang causing damage.

Don't you have to dock everynight with the houseboat anyways?

I'm not sure if you've been houseboating before but there are two ropes that you use to anchor the boat to the shore. We just tied the boat to those ropes. Those ropes have to be fairly taut anyways so it works pretty good. Sometimes we docked it on the shore too because my friend had a rubber mat specifically used for docking on beaches.

Pretty bad picture, but it's the only one I could find of the boat tied to our houseboat. Gives you a rough idea...

When you rent seadoo's, they give you two long (6'-8') buoys to clip onto the seadoo's and the the houseboat. That way they don't bump into the houseboat. You could try finding a couple of those.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I'll look for the bouys that you speak of to protect from bumping.

Shore park is out of the question as the boat is a V-drive.

I'll also look into tying to the anchor ropes. I have been houseboating before and I remember these ropes but not really how they are applied so I'll look into it more.

we brought a motor boat with us last time we went house boating..we just tied the boat right to each other front and rear with bumpers in between to save from damage worked well and not a scratch after.. just have like 4 bumpers on the side of your boat and your laughing

    Arrow

You can beach a V drive easy. The prop will be fine. The fins before the prop dig into the sand like an arrowhead and she doesn't go anywhere. The only problem you'll have with beaching it is getting it off. The fins dig in and it locks in like concrete.

It takes a couple people to break it loose, but it's a lot better than tying it to the side of the houseboat or using an anchor.
