Starting up an independent thread for Guild Wars 2.
Guess we can use it to share our progression, roll call, questions and hopefully some people can team-up and together!

I wanted to transfer servers, but I saw that 90% of servers were full after one day!! Also kinda wish I didn't roll elemenalist on a Charr, haha just seems weird!!

I may switch them around and have the Charr as my main.. I just can't decide right now.. I may start both, play the first 10-15 lvls and see which I prefer to roll as my main!

I am still determining my main, but I am playing on the Sanctum of Rall server. Currently have a Sylvari warrior, Asura elem, Norn engi, and Human ranger. Playing the Warrior the most atm, most likely to be my main.

iv never played GW before, is it like skyrim meets diablo?

or is it like wow just a different story, mechanics etc

It plays a lot like WoW, and obviously completely different story from WoW. There's a bunch of different mechanics as well (you can dodge!) and no dedicated healers. Everyone has their own little heal.

Three things I've discovered so far about GW2:

1) Playing a Norn feels slow because their animations are normalized against the Humans. So where a Human takes three steps, a Norn takes 1. That said: Norn are awesome

2) Playing during pre-launch testing on a Monday night means you get disconnected..... frequently....

3) World vs World is just about the most epic PVP thing I've ever done Armies of hundreds of characters smashing headfirst into each other = awesome

I was never disconnected during the pre-launch (friday night/saturday all day).
I had one lag spike, but it calmed down pretty quick.

The only issue we ran into, was when trying to move through an Asura gate as a group on friday night, we kept receiving errors, but disbanding the group resolved that, and as of Saturday, it's no longer an issue.

Yeah, the issue was only last night. There were something like 12 new builds pushed out through the evening, and each one force a client restart. Got bloody annoying.
