    Default Blackvue Dashcam Install

I have seen a ton of people with these Blackvue dash cams now... so I was wondering, how do you install the sucker?

Clearly there is a mount... which mount?

Also, how did you wire it? I don't really want wires running down my windshield to my cigarette lighter. How do you do it so it looks clean?

    FYI: MK6 GTI

It's attached onto the windshield with the 3m included. Just stick and you're good to go.

I've cut the cig adapter off and hooked it up to my lights in the overhead console.

You could also run the wires inside the head liner and down the pillars and etc so that you use the cig adapter.

    enjoy!

Does your camera run 24/7 with it being hooked up to the lights?

nope, not for me. If I remember correctly, green/white wire is power on when car is on.

Same way as how I wired my radar detector as well.

Thanks for the info.... I am... unskilled when it comes to wiring. I might just have to run the wire down or something.

no problem. It's really simple if your overhead console is removed. Just pops right open for most cars.

If you need anything, just PM.

Even if it's hooked up straight to the battery, it will be powered 24/7, but you can adjust the settings for "parking mode" for recording.

You can adjust the motion sensor, so it starts recording when it sees motion, and the accelerometer on all 3 axis, so it starts recording when it feels a certain amount of force against the vehicle (like if someone hit it)

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I thought it had to be above that acceleration for 30 seconds before it kicked back to recording mode? Also, how do you get motion detection to work? Mine doesn't seem to be recording anything when something moves in front of it.
