I used silicone spray.
Just picked up a new to me tow vehicle. I've always liked the LBZ Duramax, been looking for a clean one for a couple of years now. Picked this 07 up today, 100,000 km, no body rust, lots of towing goodies including exhaust brake, air bags with on board compressor and some nice hp mods.

haha I must be getting old, more worried about getting mud flaps to protect the rockers instead of smoking out cyclists who ride in the middle of the road.
damn those rims are fast, must be sick when vtec engages
crazy that was probably a high 20s, low 30s purchase. Legendary powertrain and chassis but that interior is straight out of the nineties and all the horrendous shit GM was rightfully infamous for. I have tons of respect for the package but I dont think I could honestly live with that interior.
Damn I’m jealous. I miss my LBZ sometimes, and I actually prefer the classic bodystyle interior to the 07.5-14.
I actually like the interior has heated seats, touchscreen, sunroof all that stuff. Obviously not as nice as a brand new $110k Denali HD but it works for meThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Found it on Vancouver Island, good place to find clean no rust vehicles, but I did have to spend a day removing tree sap and correcting the paint after. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Anyone here running a truck camper? Pluses minuses? Regrets?
Really looking hard at them, but know I’d have to change my truck out as well.. still cheaper then a van camper plus can offload the camper and drive around after
- Check where the battery is. Some of them are in PITA places.
- Some campers don't actually sit on the bed. I think this is a bad thing because you're losing space.
- Lots of them don't have bathrooms. This may or may not matter to you.
There's pros and cons to truck campers. First con is that you'll need waaaay more truck than you think to be within your payload. Second con is the price seems like a lot compared to much larger trailers.
But if you can get your head around those, they give you opportunities that trailer life doesn't.

Was going to rent one to try it out but they’re pushing 800-1000 a night. Better spent on a new rig…
Friend of mine has an artic fox with 3 slides. About 3500 lb. Spends about 30 nights a year in it in various ski mountain parking lots. Loves it.
A camper on a Tacoma?
Edit nvm see you realized that.
Why not buy a small motor home at that point?

I like the ability to unload the camper and use the truck as a truck (and would be a daily driver). Looking hard at the f150 HDPP but sounds like a unicorn of a truckThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My parents had one in th 80s, if there is just two people they are fine, but they are pain to load and unload. If you want to get off road there fine , but I would get a small trailer before one of these.
