I'm happy classy folks such as him can't be bothered by my low-class ways in my low-amenity campgrounds.

Ol'Macdonald Campground has a full service section like this. they jam you in like sardines and there is no space between sites. I deal with it and still go there because my kids love going there. the lake, the beach, the playgrounds.

Nah, my RV usually just goes to other friends acreages, lake lots or out to the Shuswap where I park it most of the time in a decent RV Park.

Top tip, if your trailer has the outside fridge like mine, and like mine it only works on shore power, if you load it with cold beer and ice packs, it works like a cooler.

Any ideas where to get a furnace looked at (or ideas for this problem)?
My little furnace in my older (early-2000) Jayco Qwest tent trailer doesn't want to actually start a flame. It'll try 3 times before just blowing air and not trying again. It worked 3 weeks ago, but couldnt get it to go on saturday night... thank god for -7 sleeping bags!
For all repairs I recommend hobo camper country on Edmonton Trail . I have heard the furnace isn't hard to diagnose yourself too, although that's not my area of expertise.
Edit: although I should say that running out of propane can cause that symptom. I had that issue once.

Lots of these furnaces have a control board that have a diagnose LED. Remove the cover and take a look. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There are a few things that go wrong with these things but they are all pretty simple to fix and follow some basic rules. It needs fuel, air, and ignition. If it doesn't get one of those its the supply of one or the sensing of one that is broke. For example, the fan is good but the sail switch that senses air flow is not, wont light. Or the air is going but the gas solenoid wont open, wont light.
Check out the control board and diagnose the LED and it should be an easy fix.
My hot water tank wasn't lighting well this weekend. Was doing a few loud "woofs" and backfiring. Guessed that it wasn't getting enough air, and adjusted it. Fires right up now.
Yay simple fixes!

Ya i'll take a peak at it, im pretty positive its the ignition that is the issue, as it just clicks and won't fire up..
I know this is a broad question, but any feedback on Forest River trailers? Specifically, their Salem 27DBUD model?
If its clicking, that would be the ignition firing (so not a sail switch) and likely not the issue. My guess would be gas valve stuck closed. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Had a similar issue on our unit when it’d just blow cold air and clicks etc. pulled the thermostat cover off and the slider switch to adjust the temp had a poor connection. Resoldered and fixed. Try the simple stuff first good luckThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yesterday was the first time I've ever repacked the bearings on my trailer by myself (friend suggested I do it once just so I knew what it was about). I found out there was no way to remove the rear seal without destroying it (ended up driving around the city to find it on a sunday), but more importantly there was some scoring on one of the bearings so I'm glad I did it before my trip next week. I'm going to also pick up a spare set to keep in my trailer (just in case).
So for the other fellow trailers newbs in this thread, just a reminder with camping season upon us to make sure you (amongst other things) maintain your wheel bearings.
I do bearings as a part of my spring cleaning/ de Winterizing. One of the most important things on the trailer... make sure the are greased and set properly.
The one year, I had standands do it in the fall when fixing a spring issue on the trailer. The first trip the next year I had a seized bearing ... back to doing it myself...
Did you check Princess Auto? They usually have them for next time! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Have any of you guys been in the path of a tornado while out camping? We are going to Aspen Crossing (mossleigh) this weekend and I would think they would get some pretty severe hail/storms possible tornados out there.
