Fill black tank with clean water, let it sit a week (or more) then drive around with it, and then dump.
There's a million suggestions about the right tank additives, but in my opinion it's the water that does most of the work.

I have used water and a couple bags of ice in the past. Seemed to work at the time but within a couple trips the sensors were blocked again so I gave up.
Ingseason you really never want you black tank to. Be completely dry. Leave some water in it all the time. And, get it as full as possible before you empty it.

Depends on the park, and some of the wording can be a bit vague. This is from Alqonquin, ON:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So they're basically banning anything that's not a cooktop. BC is still fine for the propane firepits at present.• Portable outdoor living gas or propane fire pits or fire bowls manufactured for the intended purpose of outdoor ambience and recreational enjoyment that produce a flame are not permitted; and
• Portable gas/propane/naphtha stoves or barbeques that have a fuel source with a control valve may still be used.
if we go to a campsite that has full service, i usually flush my black tank before i leave. i would leave it empty after that until the next trip.
i do have a clear connection for the sewage hose that helps to ensure that the water is clear after flushing. if i couldn't flush, then i would leave some water in there so things don't get dry...

Got the last open spot at crimson lake today. The fcfs loop was being circled by five trailers steady from 11am onwards. I scooped a spot inoop D (reservation loop) because someone left early.
Wasp central, but I'm surviving.
Will give the 30A power a workout at bedtime, because I plan to blast the AC all night long

I was in loop B on the weekend the wasps weren’t too bad. Saw some hornets too. We are camping in Montana this week at the west glacier koa. There are no wasps at all down here but it’s hot as fuck. It’s going to be 39 here on Friday. I think this might be the last time I stay at a koa the washroom / shower ratio is very poor.
Do you guys ever camp in the states and where do you like to go?
Never koa if I'm in the states. Always head to national forest or state parks.

Crimson lake report : this is one of the most popular campgrounds in the province, and it's easy to see why. Well treed and well spaces sites, 30A power, a nice Sandy swimming beach, and a boat launch. Good paved road to access and only a shirt distance from Rocky Mountain House.
Very popular with families, the beach is packed every day. Campground is too, with every single fcfs site being full before 4pm even on weekdays. If you have kids and want your kids to play with other kids, this is the place to be. Four or five separate playgrounds. Good biking trails. Decent tasting water at taps. Coin Laundry and coin shower facilities.
Reservations strongly recommended.
Downsides are few. It's a busy place, so watch for traffic on the roads. Lots wasps currently, and moderate mosquito/no-see-ums.

Ah good to know, thanks for the review. It is one of the campgrounds I want to checkout for next year for sure. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Is there leaches in that one?
We went to Beauvais lake and Beaver Miens Lakes and both had leaches, didn't bother me but the wife/kids were freaked out. went out in an inflatable tube for about 5 mins, got back to shore and there were 4 of them latched onto it!

Free dinner.
No leeches that I have seen, and there's a hundred people swimming all day.

My brother, who lives in Rocky Mountain House, says all the locals go swimming at Crimson on Sunday afternoon/evening because all the campers/visitors have cleaned out all of the leeches by then. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Will fuck off, again.
What campground is your favorite down there? We are heading down in a week or so for several nights but not sure which one we should stay at.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The reason there is no leeches is because someone introduced perch into the lake which ate all the leeches.

For anyone that ever needs firewood i found this guy on kijiji and grabbed some yesterday. He rents a garage in tuscany and gives you the code to the keypad so you can buy it anytime, you leave the cash in a mailbox lol. Theyre big bundles for $5.00 and split into nice pieces.

Not sure that's a better deal than the wood depot kiln dried stuff.
But then again, may not need much firewood for the rest of this season.

Depends what style camping you prefer. Beaver Mines Lake is very scenic, your are WAY up on the mountains, alpine all around. There are very little flat roads between sites, seems more like the campsite is carved into side of hill. Gorgeous scenery, not very little kid friendly, lots of inclines. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Forgot to mention, Beaver Mines has about 10km of gravel to reach the campground.
Beauvais Lake is 100% flat, and about a 10 minute walk to the lake, many fishermen on it. Really kid friendly, and there's lots of them. there's on power loop, usually fills up fast, all the outer lane spots are pretty big and private.
Report back which lake you visit and how it was.
