Little elbow is great.. we camped there last weekend. Super nice big sites, clean outhouses.. Would say that getting through the parking lot and day use area is a bit hellish currently as they have parking control currently. So either get there early or late.. should be ok friday evening

We moved to a new house, and I tried plugging thick black trailer extension cord, with an adapter to regular AC plug, into an exterior outlet. It keeps blowing the breaker.

Figure this is because the outlet doesn't have enough amps.

Can I upgrade the breaker on panel to more amps, without having to change anything else?

The trailer plug says 30 amps in it, but pretty sure my last house was only 15 or 20 amps on exterior plugs, and it worked fine there.

Do I really need a 30 amp breaker to allow my trailer to plug into exterior house outlet?

Should work fine as-is, what are you running on the trailer?

You might have a short somewhere on the cord.

If it's too long or too skinny of a cord, the resistance can cause the breaker to blow. I had that issue with a 14/3 cord.
To conserve AC power, turn off the converter, fridge, HWT etc when you are running AC. That's a truck the genny crowd taught me.

Don't change the breaker in your panel. Breakers are sized to protect the wiring in your house. The wiring is likely appropriate for a 15A breaker, and putting in a larger breaker without changing the wiring would create a fire hazard.

Look at reducing the current draw of the trailer as the other guys suggest.

Is this the tm66 chat thread? Was up the moose mountain road today with a buddy getting some firewood. Closer than powderface area, and not too picked over.
If a guy was organized and cut standing live pine its actually an amazing area. We were trying to stick to standing dead so it would be pre-seasoned a bit.

Tm66 allows live trees now? Thought it was always standing/down dead

You'll have to ask my lawyers, but yeah I think it does.

TM66 is obsolete, but as per the provincial website: The PUFPP authorizes the permit holder to to harvest green and/or dead trees for firewood.

Yes technically it's not called a tm66 permit. However, they still send your permit from "[email protected]", and there remain other references to tm66 in official documents.

I think people know what you mean when you say tm66.

Seems like a spot to perhaps not advertise for such activities… McLean is probably better:

Just a few trails with high use off moose:

Dropping green trees on trail users seems rather stupid when there is unlimited logging leftovers that are perfectly seasoned on the other side of the highway

Ah yeah, I get it now. I agree with you saying that anyone using the forest needs to keep other users safety in mind. I personally would not intentionally block a path, road or trail.

Disagree that any class of permitted forest uses should take precedence over another.

Wouldn’t that be nice! Fucking cattle and commercial logging seems to think differently

You ain't seen nothing until you run into an "uphill is right of way" Karen when you're in the middle of a nice downhill.

I agree with you, but don’t forget that every access road and trail we use in the backcountry was cut by oil & gas exploration or forestry. Recreational users are just those little birds sitting in a crocodile’s mouth thinking they should be the boss. I love all the areas I have access to and am grateful for the past gross exploitation of our natural areas.
