Around my inlaws place lots of people build a garage with a bathroom and then live in a trailer beside it. Can store boats etc inside. It's a decent halfway option and not too expensive.
My buddy's place at gull (raymond shores) they do something similar. Big garage which we use as a lounge and boat storage, and a modified shed as a bunk house. Then they have a big fifth wheel on the lot that has never been moved. This is essentially threading the needle for what they can build and stay within bylaws.

Great setup, very functional and affordable

Sell in spring, unless it's going to cost you a bunch to store it.

Young family came out of it. Probably needed some Daim cake inside.

Winterizing today. I do air, 1 gallon of anti freeze and then air again. I figure that is overkill but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

This is our last weekend out. Decided to overland at Wilderness Village Resort. Helluva nice place, and perfect way to end the season.

Have the 6v batteries in the garage now. Filled em up with distilled water and have them set to charge on the good ole Noco. Will charge them overnight run a repair cycle and then throw them in the basement for the winter.

Some year i will replace them, but my battery needs are pretty small so I get by even though these are quite old and nowhere near full capacity.

I have new 6V's and this is my first winter looking after them. Do you fill them right to the top with water? Any specific chargers/repair units you would recommend? Is it necessary to have a charger if you put them away fully charged from the on-board trailer converter? Do you worry about battery level going below 50% while in storage?

There's a clear line in mine, I fill to that. Any "smart" charger like noco or ctek should be fine, they all have some kind of "repair" function. I don't know how necessary or effective that is, but I use it anyway.

I charge them again when I put them into storage, no matter what. They don't drop much in storage, nowhere near 50%, but I charge again around Christmas and once when I get them out of storage.

I assume it’s worth mention to make sure whatever charger has a 6V setting. Many don’t, I don’t think my CTEK 4.3 does?

Oh yeah, i just keep my two batteries connected to use a 12v charger. But good call on paying attention to that.

Attempted the Winterizing of my trailer for the first time. Wondering if anyone can comment on the steps I took:

This unit has no hot water bypass so Im going to get one installed in there and I used presurized air to blow everything out first.

    1. First I drained all water from the lines using the valves underneath the trailer - i presume this also drained my hot water tank because I then
    2. Undid the 1 1/16" nut holding in the hot water anode to find it was completely empty in there, the anode needs to be replaced.
    3. I then looked at the water tank and found it had about 1/4 of a tank of water in there so I turned the pump on and drained as much water out of it as possible. There is still water left in the tank about 1" of water (looks unable to be drained).
    4. Closed the valves under the trailer and hooked up the air to the water intake - Turned on each tap individually until no more water (only air) was coming out, also flushed the toilet until only air came out.
    5. Opened the valves again and released the air pressure and any residual water in the lines.
    6. Poured one gallon of Antifreeze down the drains leading to grey water tank and one gallon of antifreeze down the toilet.

Anything else? Again not sure what to do with the water tank and the hot water tank. I mainly did this today due to the sub zero temps coming at the end of this week.

the fresh water tank should have a drain valve or plug on the bottom, that should mostly drain it, if it doesnt drain it all, go for a drive, it'll slosh around and empty

I assume you did hot and cold size on all taps.

Also don't forget the outside shower if you have one

the rest sounds good to me.
