You aren't playing basketball in there, but it's a fine sleeping berth.

But pillows are still a thing, no?

    What's the inside height? I read 42.5" - tell me it's more.
Most are sub 48", so someone gets kicked out to go make coffee in the morning, someone gets dressed using contortionist methods then switcheroo...

It's a place to sleep + camp kitchen you don't have to fit in the car also doesn't cost a crap ton of gas to tow - unless you're on a goldwing then you'll notice it. Lol

That thing doesn't look long enough for a 6 foot man to fully lie down in.
My friend is 6' and he crawled inside to see if he could fit. He still had a bit of space. Actually once we put a mattress in, there will be a bit more space because the front and back curve like a bowl.

. That looks awesome. Inside pics? If you have a 12mm lens laying around.
@blitz Picked it up this afternoon and spent the day giving it a serious cleaning as it was sitting in the garage for a few years. Fourteen mm was just barely enough to get the interior.

A good thing is that it's small enough that you could store it in your garage. I can see the appeal in that it's like a hard shell tent, better protection from the environment and off of the ground. If you don't want or need the conveniences of a larger hard shell trailer or tent trailer and just basically need a nice sleeping area, the it's a great alternative.

On a completely different track, are truck bed mounted campers even much of a thing anymore what with the short boxes that almost all trucks have these days. My parents had a 10.5' truck camper when I was a young lad and it seemed quite convenient. Easy to store away at home, easy to get into most places and even places my parents probably shouldn't have ventured into, back country fishing lakes. Any beyonders rocking truck campers these days?

Neat little adventure-mobile for sure. I kinda went the other way with my camping setup, but some days I think I should downsize everything, although maybe not that small while there's still 4 of us on trips, lol.

Wont lie, as a guy who wants a boat and to camp, they're kind of the only way.. Have to get an old diesel truck to make it worthwhile though

Truck campers still exist, and are still awesome, but are surprisingly expensive for the amount of interior room you get, which pushes a lot of people into travel trailers. I guess it makes sense when you consider that they need all the same mechanical bits as any length of trailer, just packed more densely. We've been talking about our next RV being a truck camper, but we aren't sure.
Also, you kinda need a 1-ton these days, and lots of people don't want to own one of those.

After eight years of watching this thread as a tent-camping plebeian; I've finally ascended into your hallowed ranks with a ~23' Keystone Outback 210URS. Four new tires and a bearing repack is in store before our first trip next week. Lots of deferred maintenance on this unit I'm expecting to crop up over the season. We're excited!

    Yeah supposedly f150 haulable.

Just don't ask the dealer about the price it's pretty shocking.

The old bigfoot shortbed slide-ins just keep climbing in value... Used to be able to get them for peanuts, now they're like the cult of Boler.

If you want to really freak out, check out the Arctic fox /Silver Fox truck campers. If I won the lottomax, I'd have a silver fox on an F350 and if pull a little fishing boat around.

What's the best storage yard? I was going to try to give springbank a call, but the one you're using @ExtraSlow seems like a good one. I live in Cambrian Heights and will primarily be camping in Bragg/Kananaskis area when not in BC.

I use CanaDream at crossiron. They have drinking water, and sewer dump, which is very handy. Negotiate hard on price.

They have three sizes of stall. I am in a "medium" stall, and regular price is $80/mo plus gst. I have previously negotiated a discount on that. I can discuss specific discount info by PM.

I thought there was a bit change in AF since they got rolled into Northwood?

I helped rebuild a sagging overhang on one a few years back - I wasn't impressed myself. We spent a lot of time going through my old photos of repairs on my old vanguard to compare structures and figure out how to reinforce it.

Yeah the old clamshell designs when maintained were really hard to beat. They're looking dated now but... Leaking wasn't the issue it is with today's.
