Give Princess Auto batteries a try, IDK about costcos pricing but hasn't their battery warranty basically disappeared?

The PA Pro-Point stuff has been solid for me so far (12v deep cycle) and they have no qualms with warranty stuff when I've been back with it
Princess Auto is about $50 per battery more for a GC2 battery. Bit more capacity though 232ah vs 210ah in the kirlkland

Has anyone seen the 6v batteries at Costco lately? Mine are finally cooked
Rockyview had them in the tire shop racks last time I was in a couple weeks ago. Might want to call and confirm.

Where should i go to look for someone to build me a solar rig? I am pre-wired on the camper, however dont have a controller. Seems like semi straight forward, except that i need angle-alum to attach the panel to my yakima track. Is there a specialist in town?
pre-wired is a joke, manufacturer sales gimmic, literally 2 14awg wires (if you're lucky) run to the battery.

typically it does not... it's typically a lame ass plug down on the frame, it's intended for a suitcase solar with built in controller, which sits on the ground... not rooftop... it's absolutely useless, my trailer is only 2 years old and came with something like this "solar ready"

I ended up putting 400w solar on the roof myself, punched a hole in the roof with a project box and plastic conduit inside it, sealed it up real good, down to a controller inside, heavy wire, like 4awg or better, cant recall exactly.

For a lot of people, the suitcase style is adequate enough. Additionally where many people camp, tree cover is a problem and having the ability to move your panels is ideal. Not a lot of people are camping off grid long enough to warrant spending $3-$4k on solar or want to roll the dice on amazon garbage.

I spent $700 on my setup, 90% of the time the batteries are fully charged before I even roll outta bed. Its "garbage" that's been flawless for over 2 years

Flexible panels are horribly inefficient and prone to early failure. 2 years is a piss in the wind for a solar set up.

This is probably a dumb question but is anyone looking to offload a reservation for an rv lot for august long? Looking to get out in the woods last minute.

The comment about battery warranty is because it CHANGED for the GC2 batteries from incredible to just "decent" now that it's a flat 12 month only. That's still probably better than other places, and they are still the best value, but not as amazing of a value as they used to be when you could abuse them for 2 years and get free replacements after that time.

It was worse. Didn’t matter the timeline and the warranty was from the date on the new battery. Essentially people had new batteries forever. I know people that would just get new batteries through warranty every season since the mid 2010’s.

if you want a guaranteed spot, then yes. Being a long weekend, should probably do it Wednesday unless you're doing something pretty obscure like Cataract creek or Livingstone falls.. Somewhere like Interlakes you may struggle. Where you looking?

Drive further from Calgary is my strong suggestion. Ideally. Somewhere on a gravel road. North ghost, cataract Creek or Etherington Creek etc.

Finally got around to ripping this mess of pipes out from the tightest spot in the trailer. These are all just drain valves. Someone thirty years ago was probably proud of this snakepit. The bottom valve handle could even turn all the way open because of how close it is to the other valve.

Managed to snag a cancellation site at Little Elbow for Friday and Saturday night. First trip out to a legit campground in the bus. Should be fun.
