My trailer has it's own policy but it's only for fire/theft/damage, if it's hooked up to my truck then the truck insurance covers it otherwise it relies on its own policy when not in use.

I think I've posted about it previously, but different companies treat RV trailers diferently, and some are an add-on to the auto policy, and some are an add-on to the house policy. As a guy who's written off two trailers, and made a smaller claim on a third, I've seen shit man.
Since there's no liability compondent to trailer insurance unlike a motorhome or car, the cost isn't that high.

what if the trailer popped off the hitch and smoked someone?
you still cannot have separate liability insurance on the trailer.

I to have a separate insurance policy for my trailer that is specific for fire/theft/damage like bigboom. I think it's like $180 a year with a $500 deductible, but yeah, pretty cheap.

As a guy who's written off two trailers, that insurance can be valuable.

I have TD and it used to be on its own slip but now on the same slip as other vehicles
