I bought a Honda 2200 because I didn't want to be loud or worried about running my AC. Expensive but very satisfactory.

I think Honda, Yamaha and some Chinese manufacturer that OEMs for everybody else are the only three actual generator manufacturers in the world.
Yamma used to have a 3000 W that I think was about "right sized" for people who want a lot of power camping. But it was so much larger and heavier than the Honda 2200.

They have a 2200 that's been well received.
I'm thinking you are correct. The honda 2200w is 1800/2200 and the cost is above 2 champions. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If the EastStart module isn't going to help me out getting a second generator and the parallel kit could be the answer.
Your dry hitch weight is basically at your max tongue load. No way you're not overweight. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
turns out I am way late. worth repeating.
Also had 2 friends get pulled off the highway 2 weeks ago to have their tow vehicle weighed as well as their hitch weight. Anyone over their gvwr had the please of dropping their trailer and having it towed.

Buy this from Costco. Dual fuel 3000w and you can return it to Costco when it fails years down the road. Half the price of any Honda or Yamaha 2000w genny

For those looking to sell their trailer this season, it turns out that the timing is still good. Just listed our trailer Saturday night and the new owners picked it up today. Ended up getting a fair offer that made us and the buyer happy. Basically got our money back for 1 year of ownership minus maintenance/storage/consumables (which is fine with us).
@S-FLY did you sell private or to a dealer? Kijiji? I'm very close to listing mine and already have a lowball offer from Woody's that isn't terrible. Have reasons to prefer sale to dealership for this case.

I've got that one. I love not having to carry gasoline. I would not recommend it to someone who wants to run their AC all day. It isn't as noisy as some, but definitely not Honda/Yamaha quiet. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit: I forgot I returned that one because it was way too heavy/noisy, and got a Champion 1800/2000 dual fuel. It actually runsy AC no problem, but I still wouldnt leave it on all day.

Add 20% to what Woody's offered, they'll take it. Their inventory is flying off their lots. I looked at a Class C at Guarantee RV, by the time I was done looking at the web page and went back to their list it was sold. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Kijiji. Got about 10 messages, 5 were duds and 3 were serious. First person I showed it to bought it. 2 messages came after it was sold before I took the ad down. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
For what it's worth, I was able to run the roof AC unit off my 2000w inverter. I thought I needed 30a power to run it but according to the inverter it was only drawing 1200 watts! I ran it for 5 mins before shutting it off because it was going to kill my battery drawing 150 amps lol.
It's usually the starting up that's the issue. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Surprisingly it didn't spike beyond 2000 watts on startup, although I don't recall the exact power required. It was an interesting test.
I actually think they were nearly 40% low, and that still leaves awesome margin for them to resell. Will get serious about this shortly. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
I camp in the Okanagan, there's only a few days where I need AC to help the kids sleep. I bought two Briggs and Stratton inverter generators that I can sync for 30 amps, for less than the price of a Honda or Yamaha. Most trips I only bring a single generator though, and it's small enough that I can fit it in the front storage compartment.
