There are some farm or industrial trailers that people tow without brakes, but generally they are towing those with 1 ton trucks, so the tow vehicle has a lot of braking power itself. It's insanely sketchy to tow 5000 lbs even with a half ton without brakes.

Black valve went on me the other day....or so I thought.

It would constantly leak all the fluids out and leave me with a nice TP clump surprise.

Got a RV tech out to fix it and we’ll be fixed it but it was much more of a simple fix.

The metal line going to the valve was “bunching” up from being opened / closed to fast.

Why do people care so much about hail damage on those corrugated sided rv's? does it actually affect the trailer at all or is it just a looks / value thing?

Looks only. If you don't mind, a hail damaged one should be MUCH cheaper. My last trailer was written off for hail.

Is it possible to lengthen your wiring harness temporarily with some sort of male to female 7 way connector? Im thinking if i want to put the dual hitch receiver on my car so i can take my bike. Also unsure how I would lengthen my chains, but I think I could use some of these https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...ton/49135.html

Bought a KZ spree escape 2013 yesterday but I can’t tow it away until I get a brake controller installed. I would like to get one installed Monday or Tuesday but I’m unsure of the best place?

The new trailer weighs 2900 dry which is a bit of a step up from our boler but well within the spec of what we can tow.

I'm sure you told us before but what's your tow vehicle? Some have a plug and play harness and its a five minute install.
    Never mind, found it

If it's got the tow package, it'll have the wiring in it. You just need to find the plug, usually tied behind the drivers kick panel. Then buy the wire adapter.

Actually, I think I might have mine from my 4runner, I don't think the buyer wanted it. I'll check when I get home tonight. If I do, you can have the brake controller and harness for a case if beer.

Unsure what I’m looking for under the drivers side kick panel? Some sort of plug n play adapter?

It’s got this white adapter right under the kick plate

If you have the plug, that's easy, the hard part is just finding it. If not, it's as shown in this youtube video.

I would strongly suggest you don't get the cheapest controller. The "better" ones will have smoother braking, or that's my experience when I went from a tekonsha voyager (budget) to Tekonshae P3. I don't really know much about the various controller brands/options anymore though. All my trucks have had the built-in controller for the last six or eight years. .

If you are looking for a local source for the controller and connector harness, Hobo caries a decent selection. Other places may as well. They are also widely available online.

That connector has too many wires. Not a great pic but something like this white one probably :

That connector is directly connected to the curt harness that’s under my dash so I’m pretty sure that must be it

Mine was really hard to find. It was zip tied behind a wire bundle in a really tight spot.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Highlanders don't have the plug and play like 4 runners. For my 2013 highlander we had to manually create all of the connections for the brake controller.

I would think they'd all be, because you don't need many wires for that device. But who knows what different manufacturers did?

As an aside, that's one of the greatest things the truck companies did, integrating the trailer brake control from the factory. Both the Ford and GM systems are excellent, easily as good as the premium aftermarket options. I'd never buy a pickup without it now.
