    I think it's that easy.

Has anyone ever removed the tongue jack/jockey from their conventional tow trailer?

Is it as easy as I think it should be? There's 3 visible hex-heads that look about 1/2 or 9/16, should it then just lift out?

My trailer is from the 70s fwiw, we went the resto-mod route and just upgrade stuff as it breaks
It is that easy for sure. Also be sure the next one is powered. Every little thing i can do to make setup easy, starts the weekend off the best.

Yeah we got a deal on a powered one about 3 weeks after we bought the trailer and it's been sitting in the pass thru storage ever since hahaha

Took me about 10 minutes to swap with the Princess Auto power one I got. Jack up, place on a piece of wood to take the weight off, unbolt, replace, and wire.

I know you guys were worried. So my tongue jack is fine, was just a combination of being all the way to the end of the travel (fully retracted) and some corrosion on the gears from some water intrusion .

I manually ran it through its range of motion with the hand crank, lubricated it, and started paying closer attention to not run it into the end like a goddamned ape, and I have had zero issues with the fuse since then. Multiple campsites, zero issues. I declare that problem operator error combined with poor maintenance. Not a wiring issue, which is good because if I can't wire up a fucking tongue jack then I truly will have brought shame onto my family.

Small update on the microair easystart too. Been +34 degrees here at Kokanee Creek, and have been running the AC every night for 1 hour before bed. Zero issues with my Honda EU2200i, and in fact it's not even running quite flat out, which I can see by disengaging eco mode switch. Probably running at 80 percent throttle I'd estimate. So it's working, but not close to problematic. Overall that Microair Easystart does exactly what it advertises.

Got me thinking though, what's noisier, a 2200 running at 80 percent or a 3000 running at half throttle? Might be the 3000. Good to consider but I'm not buying a different generator. I already have enough money tied up in this hobby.

Well maybe. But that's a lot of generator to bring with us, both from a cost and weight and size perspective.

Only playing devils advocate bud don't go out and buy another generator!

I'd imagine that, with the possible exception of actual physical space used, 2 smaller generators are cheaper and easier to transport around than one bigger one?

My little 2200 China special is light enough for the wife to lift

Anyone have suggestions for thier favourite RV cupboard door latch? We have those traditional "double roller" style, and I mangled the fuck out of one already. I see there's other styles. I dunno.

    Child safety locks

Does anyone have recommendations for a portable grey water tank? My old ass trailers is half the size of the fresh water because back then they would just dump in on the ground at sites. We always have to go to the dump site mid trip for anything more than 3 days.

WTH, I thought I replied to this?

The Rhino looks decent, but pretty bulky too. I do like the bumper attachment bracket accessory though, just pricey. I'll have to remember it for next years Prime Days.

You know you've been dealing with trailer wiring too long when this makes sense as three wires that all mean the same thing (12v positive power supply) .

Also, I added a USB outlet behind the stereo.

Hobo camper country has a very reasonably priced variety of cupboard latches...
