    Default AirTags for tracking kids

Has anyone ever used AirTags / other trackers to track their young kids? We are going to Disneyland next month and I’m a bit worried about losing my ADHD son in all the madness.

I have a couple of unused AirTags and I’m thinking of using them for this.

Has anyone found any creative ways to attach them to kids? I’ve seen the wristbands on Amazon which I’m leaning towards, but curious if there are other neat ideas that would make them a bit more secure/not-noticeable vs a wristband that could be removed or just loose inside a pocket where it could fall out.

Ideally I’d like to sew some sort of pocket on their clothing that could hold an AirTag but that requires too much planning for what clothes they’ll be wearing not to mention sewing skills…

    Thoughts?

    Been debating the same thing.

Best idea I can come up with would be putting them in the insoles of their shoes ( remove, place into a cutout in the shoe insole ) or inserting into the tongue of shoe.

Necklace I am hesitant with for a toddler ( strangulation hazard, kids are dumb ), I feel like wristband would be gone almost instantly especially in an abduction scenario ( low COS but hey while you are on the topic ).

I think shoe attachment is the best idea for an outdoor environment.

#1 tip with kids 8n Any public place is to take a pic of them at the gate before you go in. So if you loose em, you have the 3xacy clothing they are wearing to describe to staff.

That being said, Disney is damned safe, and staff well trained. I'd be more worried about the airport or the hotel.

Agreed, losing your kid in Disney would be a bad time. But it would work out in the end.

We've used air tags on our kids for all sorts of things and they seem to work well. Obviously, they work better in more crowded areas, but Disney fits that bill. It doesn't even necessarily have to be about finding a lost kid; for example, my wife could see positions in lineups and make judgements based on that. 100% a good idea for Disney for a bunch of reasons.

Typically we use a carabiner on a belt loop or shoe lace, or attach to a bracelet. Not sure if being inside the insole would compromise the signal.

Good call about having current-from-the-day photos...

I just use them tucked underside my kids’ bike seats to roughly know which neighborhood kid’s yard they are hanging out at. Inside their shoe tongues while travelling is a good idea, I like that. I have them in some toolboxes at work also, no issues with them in a hard case surrounded by metal so clothing will have zero effect on their signal.

If you bring your own stroller and its a fancy one i'd throw it on there too just in case.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

We looped it around their laces/Velcro straps.

The good thing about them being visible would be a responsible adult can scan it and retrieve your phone #, as well. Or the Lithuanian / Russian kidnappers can send the ransom demands directly to you. Saves time either way.

I have a friend who's kid was an inverate runner. Left daycare several times, left school multiple times in grades k-3. Just a nightmare. Seems to have grown out of it though.

Parents wouldn't have these problems if they just stopped giving their kids soda.
