I swear you'd have fewer repairs with a used trailer than a new one. There are trailers made with better materials, but none that I've seen made with more care. And warranty work on a trailer is a joke.

I'm going to slightly disagree about the axles. On a small trailer the tandem will make it significantly easier to back it in without jackknifing the unit. Small trailers are a huge bitch to back in because you can move the steering wheel an inch and next thing you know you're doing wheelies. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Having said that no way is it worth the extra money.
You also scrub the shit out of the tires on a tight angle though.
I have a mild preference for a tandem axle unit. but it's a small deal. Honestly short trailers are hard to back up anyway. What I find funny is some of the Axle ratings vs trailer GVW situations. Was looking at one recently with tandem 3500 lbs axles, and a "rated" tonge wieght of 650 lbs, and yep, GVWR is 7650 lbs.
On a trailer with a 5000 gvwr, I'd take a singe 5000lbs axle without hesitation. Not sure what the rating on each of the tandem axles is.
I know people who have bought a trailer and immediately upgraded to heavier axles for the safety factor, service life, and better brakes.

Forget the winny unless you're okay with spending that much. Also it is a much heavier unit, are you sure you can pull it?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Wolf Pup has better storage and a better kitchen but the fridge location is stupid. But the fridge is almost twice the size.
Big fridge is best fridge, unless you also have an outdoor fridge . . .

Ha, know a couple that bought a new trailer and one of the cabinet doors just fell apart the first time they opened it. Like WTF.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The other big delta with the Winnie? It's only 7' wide, which is a big plus if you're towing with a smaller vehicle, and [could be] a minus if you value the extra space.
I came very close to dropping the 28k-30k on the similar winnie and instead opted for used at a small fraction that price. I'm just as happy and not even angry when i accidentally scrape it by a tree with my wife giving me directions as a back up

I decided a few years ago, I'd prefer to hit a tree than argue with my wife on the first night of a trip.

I haven't really studied the numbers as much as should have. I'll get on that now. My tow vehicle will be a 2017 GMC 1500 with the 6.2 motor. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I should have never looked at new trailers. Now the wife seems not impressed with the looks of the used ones. Haha fuck.
You shoukd give your wife far less input into this topic.

You: "How much room do I have?"
Them: "Ugh, umm, ugh... lots"
You: "How much is lots??!"
Them: "I don't fucking know!"
You: "Estimate! A lot? A little? Your height?! A car length?!"
Them: *storms away*
You: *Get out, slam door, look behind trailer, 4'*
Or like my wife, completely unaware of her location vs where mirrors are. It's great you're flailing your arms in the direction I need to go, but when I can't see you, you might as well be sitting on the picnic table.

Lol. I've resorted to pulling up in front of the spot, asking her to take the dog for a walk, then parking the trailer myself. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think I'll take this advice. Another part of my problem is our dogs extreme seperation anxiety, so he starts screaming as soon as she gets out of the truck without him, which makes communication difficult, as well as making my blood pressure skyrocket. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Yep. Drop wife and kids at playground or day use area and I'll park the trailer. By the time they wander back I usually have it chocked and unhooked and maybe even levelled. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I taught my wife proper distances. One of the very few times she's ever listened to me.
But yeah the first couple of times was hilarious. Like I had about 2 inches between the trailer and the hookups and she's like "isn't that plenty of space?"
I find women find comparing varying lengths extremely natural for some reason.
