That's what the marketing material for the "wide-track" trailers says. I suspect any difference is pretty subtle.

It might tow better, but backing the trailer in to any tight spots will scrub the tires a lot more.

It's a short-bus for sure, but it's got a lot of features, and weight. She's a full 7500 lbs going down the road.
What are you running off your batteries that you need 400AH for?

I like the idea of that many AH but to be honest the only thing I am running is lights and the slide. Everything else runs on propane. I guess I could get a converter and then run some 110v off it in order to atleast charge tablets/phones etc.

My 5a furnace fan uses a lot of juice. Water pump to a lesser extent as well

its not 400 ah. you dont x2 when its 6v batteries. trojan T105's are rated at 225 ah, but these are many years old, so not full capacity at all. I need generator every 2-3 days usually. I'd like to be 4-5 days, that would be ideal.

Like mentioned, the furnace fan is the biggest draw. we mostly just use lights and radio, which is pretty minor. Slide and water pump are used so few minutes that they don't add up to much.

Exactly when you wire in series you multiply the voltage, the capacity stays the same. When you wire in parallel, you multiple the capacity and the voltage stays the same.

Boo that being said my current battery which is a group 24 - 60 AH one isnt even really holding a charge either, which is why im in the market for something better. Charged it over winter, hooked up to trailer read the meter today and voltage is 12.43v

When we bought our trailer the lady was like - its a new battery 1 year ago, it looks like its 5 years old and has been sitting in the trailer outside over winter too. I mean when we bought it they said it was covered, but not in a garage.

You can permanently damage most batteries in a single winter. Particularly most 12v batteries which are less durable than golf cart batteries.

There's some rule of thumb about how much of rated capacity is truly useable capacity, maybe 75%?

Anywhooo, not everyone need over 200 ah capacity, but pretty much everyone needs more than 100. If price is even close to the same, 2x 6v is best value.

Anyone been to costco and noticed this years price on the 6V batteries? I see I have this from 2018 showing $139:

    who's ready to go camping?
I was there yesterday and they are $149.99 but they only had 1 left.

    Nice rig!

We pick up our unit on Friday and if all goes well we're hoping to make it out to Waiparous either that evening or Saturday morning (if the rain isn't terrible).

2 6V is definitely a nice upgrade. We go 2-3 days without a charge running lights, furnace, water pump, small inverter for small 120V electronics and still stay above 50% capacity.

We don’t usually resort camp, but it was nice for our first trip of the year. Name: 5A8C3FCB-4185-4177-B1D6-F2EB0C011982.jpg

Getting my rig ready for the season. Lubed up the slide, which is super important, and even did the top slide seal from the roof. What a view.

The idea of parking a trailer in that sea once a week already gives me heartburn.

I would like to put some sort of battery meter somewhere so I know how charged it is, does anyone have any recommendations?

Throw a switch in line so you can turn it off when not in use... Not that they draw much...
