Just had a meeting get cancelled, so here's the longer explanation.
Yeah, so the deal with the microair is that it's going to run the various parts of the ac system in different combinations to see which are drawing how much, and how best to re-order those systems to provide the lowest overall power draw. It needs the system to have "all the power" available so everything is working normally and at it's full capacity.
It's learning the characteristics of your AC unit, NOT the characteristics of your generator. If your generator still can't do it, then there's not much the microair can do to fix that.
I wish I could see a table output of the various power draws from the various learning steps, that'd be nice, but whatever, the system seems to work.

Makes sense. So does the compressor start up spinning slower with this thing? Instead of instant slam start?

Depends on what the learning shows. Might start fan before compressor or compressor before fan, or fan on slow, or compressor at partial power or....
Its a "black box" in terms of operation.

Hey smart guys, is this propane tank recertified? The stamping looks newer than OE, but not the code I'd normally look for. Says 02CU417E.

Recertified Feb. of 2017, so should be good until 2027

To continue the discussion I put in the wrong thread, I was under my trailer today and realized there are 2 more ground points, one near the axles and one near the rear of the trailer. I think that rear one is closest to the power distribution panel / converter area.
Anyway, they are less handy to access and re-do, so we will see if I bother.
Also dropped the hitch one hole, which may level out the trailer.
And found a sad looking connection on the brake wires for the rear axle.
Redid that but it didn't improve the rear braking from my unscientific skid tests.
@mr2mike , I like the shrink terminals and connectors, but I don't love them. Sometimes seems that they don't shrink enough to really seal, so what's the point?

Butt connectors plus electrical tape.
It's Pride Month, you fat gay homo!!
Installed a softstart on my rooftop AC this weekend. Now it fires up like a charm when plugged into my cheap firman inverter generator. Was pretty quick, maybe an hour?

RV Soft Start off amazon. I have the firman 3000W inverter genny from costco and my AC is a 15000 BTU dometic brisk air II. The genny should be able to start it but it woulndt. With the soft start, it runs no problem. If love to switch to the honda 2000 genny as its so much smaller but id want to test it ou first before dropping $1500.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Cool. I think I looked at that one online before I bought my MicroAir Easystart. It's my understanding that they are basically doing the same thing. Did you pay $464 for it? That's a little more than the MicroAir.
Main thing is that it works though.

No one has mentioned the new fuel injected Honda 3200 yet. Smaller than the previous 3000, supposedly delivers more power and weighing in at only 60 lbs. Supposed to start/run your typical RV A/C unit no problem. The price is pretty steep compared to competitors, but it's a Honda, should last long and hold good resale value.

I think TCO on a Honda is lower than a Firman or Champion longer term. But the capital investment is no foolin.

Leave your construction grade gennys in the back country. No one wants to hear that shit so you can have a nap with the ac running.
Obvious CPT: Drain your hot water tank before winter
Out with the old, in with the new. Dometic/Atwood stopped manufacturing a direct replacement, but fortunately Suburban saw the opportunity to make their own. Perfect replacement with all the lines nicely lined up, and spark ignition instead of pilot flame. I can even still use my original access panel.

Nice tik.
Get where do you guys buy brake and bearing parts locally? Hobo and Princess Auto sell em for sure. Wondering where else, particularly anywhere open Saturdays or evenings.

Standens. Open until 8-9pm weekdays and great service. Common parts the counter guys don’t even go by part numbers, they already know what’s in your hand when you walk in. Similar to Gregg’s up the street from them, service wise. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
