Thumbs down Anyone tried the Shell Ultimate plus car wash?

Here's the story. Usually I wash my car at esso station. But last Friday I filled at the Shell Chinook and really want to get the dead bugs off my hood and bumper. So I bought the ultimate plus car wash.

There is a track and you drive up to it, put the car in neutral and it carries your car through the car wash. So I put my car in neutral and swear it only took 1 minute to drag my car through and it finished!!!!

I would say it was almost worse off than when I went in. It washes like the plague.

    Anyone has the same experience?

I've never tried it either. But a minute seems a bit short to me. I mean, the Co-op touchless washes take several minutes per car.

I always just go to the wand + coin op places...
Super cheap, and you dont get the crappy wipes all over your car.

Yeah. I usually use ESSO normal wash and it takes at least 5 minutes or so. But this one...

I actually asked the guy in the store if this is called ultimate plus then what is the basic and ultimate. And he said they are the same (in 1 minute) but using different soap and it washes your tires etc....

It's 12 dollar I've paid. I guess I will never come to Shell wash again.

Shell , the last time I went, didn't even get the majority of bugs off my bumper, as well, left tons of residue.

ESSO , When ever I feel lazy about a car wash, first choice.

Other then that, I usually wash the car myself. It makes the bonding experience with my car grow more and more.

I use Esso because I use my Speedpass points. Will have to give coop a try.

Petro is not bad. And it's only 5900 Petro points for a car wash.

Another Reason I carry a bunch of cleaning supplies in my trunk... I hate paying good money at gas stations to have a sh*t gob that I can 10X better myself.

The two car washes that I've never had complaints about are:
    1) the Shell in Mckenzie (right off of 22x)
    2) The Co-op on Mcleod just south of glenmore

But like others have mentioned nothing compares to a good hand wash

the centex that's on the center street right by the buddhist temple is pretty good. They have an under-carriage cleaner and all so i usually go there if i want a quick wash or if it's winter time.

Co-op FTW! No tracks, or chalks to find, all flat concrete, and most have fairly flat entrances/exits for you lowered car ppl. plus that spray on pre wash wand really does a good job against bugs!

For peeps who use the wand wash, be careful if you have rock chips on your front bumper. Wash washing my car on the weekend and had a decent size rock chip right on the sharp edge of a bumper by the fog light....needless to say, I am missing about a 1x.25" strip of paint now Took the paint right off. Covered it with touch up paint, but still, didn't really think that high pressure would ever remote paint, but if it flaked up due to a rock, it is very much possible.

I used Esso in Evergreen to clean this...left a bunch of stuff dirty, but isn't too bad given the task. Keep in mind this was in early spring after a visit to Castle Mountain for some snowboarding, so it was not only dirt, but frozen ice dirt Usually I find a better use for $9 dollars

Yea, I tried the shell ultimate car wash. It put an ultimate shell on my car preventing dirt and grime from sticking.

..... it also made my car invisible. Can't figure out where I parked.

I saw a brand new Maserati go through the Shell car wash at Chinook once... (this was back 3 years ago)

    Some old looking baller dude...

His rear tire was soo thick it got jammed in the track... The puller pushed the back of the vehicle up, and dislodged the rear tire off the track... The guy got stuck in the car wash...

Started trying to reverse and go forward to get out... But since his rear tire was out of the track, whenever he moved he'd either rub, or the vehicle would start going sideways...

I ended up running in to tell the people inside to do an emergency stop! They made me back out of the line, I don't know what happened to the guy... lol

I don't know what he was thinking... I would never take my V in one of those auto washes... lol
