Google Maps on Android allows you to download area maps for offline navigation.

Maybe win8 is too new still
I use tunein on my phone all the time (lumia 710), so just give it a little bit and I am sure they will update the app to work with Win8

Doesn't work very well though in my experience. Pretty impressed with Nokia Drive though.

    It'll take some time.

I was reading that American accounts have more apps than Canadian accounts..?
Safe to assume ur using a Canadian one Flipstah ?

How does it handle PDF files?

After spending more time with the phone, anything else negative abt it?

I know with the wp7, nokia had an app that was available in the states but not in Canada. It was a network setup app that for some reason Nokia blocked from being available in Canada. It is possible to just sign up for a US live account and get the app and then add your Canadian live accounts for email ect, however, the phone will be linked to the US account, so I think some things were stuck to the account you signed in with. I don't know of any commercial apps that are restricted in such a sense, there are a ton of Chinese and Japanese apps in the Canadian store, so pretty sure its a free for all unless specifically restricted for some reason, like a manufacturer specific app.

As for the adobe, I can't speak for 8, but 7.5 had adobe reader (direct from adobe) and it was updated frequently. I have used it to view PDFs before...worked fine, not sure what you are looking for in a PDF reader but it worked. I assume it has been updated to Wp8 already.

I am using a Canadian account and speaking of which, I did have issues using the Microsoft account.

My original card on file became expired but I forgot to change it and bought an app with it.

Microsoft tried to bill it but obviously can't. However, when I went to add a new card in to pay for the balance, it won't let me switch cards.

Had to call Microsoft Canada to get that arranged but it's good now. I think haha.

As for PDF's, it was completely wonky in 7.5; PDF Reader froze when handling big files and sometimes breaks down when zooming in and there are a lot of details to load (isometric's or P&ID drawings for ex.)

In Windows 8, I haven't experienced any issues using the PDF Reader yet but haven't tried heavy-detailed files because my work app isn't compatible.

    Gripes I've experienced so far:

    - One dedicated volume for EVERYTHING. Stupidest thing ever. Turn volume down for earbuds mean your ringtones are down too. And vice-versa.

    - The Lumia is actually quite large. I'm having trouble gripping it with one hand. Either that or I have midget hands.

    - Bing still sucks but not as much. So happy I have the option of changing the default search engine.

    - The camera isn't THAT great but it's better than the iPhone's offering

    - Some W7.5 apps are incompatible with WP8, which is a stupid thing to begin with. This should've been priority #1 IMO.

    - Bluetooth integration has been shaky; been freezing randomly when hooked up to my Golf so I have to restart the Lumia, which is a feat of its' own.

I have to test it out to see if it's unlocked out-of-the-box.

PDF reader is fine, Mine locked up 2nd time used BT in my Ford with SYNC (a microsoft system) - but after I did a delete & re-pairing of the Ford Sync it has been good - plus the text to voice started working again (it quit after Ford updated the firmware)

It is a little large and slippery The caps button is a stretch for my thumb and I have large hands.

Camera is very good in low light - I was taking shots of my daughter riging a horse inside an arena at night with just 1/2 the florescent lights turned on - amazing - old phone would have given a shot that looked like it was inside 3 or 4 pastic bags.

there are a few regional lockouts of apps .microsoft is one of the worst offenders.

I guess I'll have to re-sync mine. The text-to-voice function doesn't work for me.

    Damn you, Volkswagen!

Not the best but did this at work. No flash. Its pretty ridiculous the pictures this takes in low light.

    That's a good representation, ZEDGE.

It has an LED preflash so to speak whether you like it or not so you get good quality night shots.

I'm in YVR right now so I can't post pics that easily haha!

Have had the Lumina 920 for a few days now.

    Thoughts:

    1) Bluetooth music streaming sound quality kind of sucks. Sounds like satellite radio. iPhone 4S steaming was clear as day. Hope this gets fixed.

    2) Love the screen.

    3) Love live tiles. Holy shit.

    4) Camera is great.

    5) Tap-to-share (NFC) feature is awesome. Fiance also has a Lumina 920 so it's easy to share stuff.

    6) Syncs with my Office 365 accounts very easily (no surprise there).

    7) Windows Phone 8 is great. Everything I liked about WP7 with a little more for good measure.

    8) App support is way better than expected. All the big apps I used on iPhone are here (rdio, etc.)

    9) Nokia Drive is a pretty decent turn by turn GPS.

    10) Phone is fast and fluid. LTE is nice too.

Pretty happy overall. Bluetooth streaming isn't a deal breaker for me.

I get about 14 hours of usage per charge. Full screen brightness, bluetooth always on, etc.
