So I still haven't started my kitchen reno, and with the baby lurking around the house these days I'm hoping to get someone to come in and do the design/engineering for my renovation.
Who have you guys used recently or who could you recommend?

Layout I guess. I'm removing an interior wall. My Kitchen is divided from the dining and living room by an L shaped wall and I'm looking at getting it knocked out.

Just an option but look into Ranger Homes. They've done plenty of high-end renos and custom home work.

I would also look into them. I have seen some of the projects they do, and some are pretty bad-ass.Originally posted by msommers

I have worked with Sugarphreak in the past. If it is a bearing wall, you'll need engineering - beam/columns/footing(s) ...
I work out of the house (hence, reasonably priced with less overhead) and am a consulting engineer/have my own professional engineering firm so can do this. I have done quite a few of these in the past.

It is defnitely not load bearing and my neighbor who's a structural engineer is willing to put together a letter to accompany my drawings.Originally posted by reijo

If not load bearing then you won't need a letter from your neighbour.
