Default phone call scam about virus

I just got a call from an Indian sounding dude claiming he's calling from Norton saying my computers been hacked and I need to go to a website and download a virus check.

Right away knew it was bullshit and said bye. Looked online and low and behold its another scam thing.

Watch out for family members who don't know too much. Crazy what kind of shit these scammers come up with everyday.

My parents don't know how to operate a computer, and times like these I'm really glad they don't.

I had a client who runs all Apple in her house. Her caller was supposedly from Microsoft and asked her to go to a website and download some programs.

He had her for 1/2 an hour before she told him she uses Macs.

    That clown called me monday

    Me: Hello
Him: Hi this is blah blah, we have noticed that you have had some viruses appear on your computer, has anyone accessed the internet in your house these past few days.
Me: Uhh yes, is it the desktops or the laptops that are affected?
Him: Oh how many laptops do you have?
Me: Thats none of your business, can you even tell me which internet provider I'm with?
    Him: Oh Telus.
    Me: Nope!
    Him: Is this Mrs. Kent?
Me: No! And you never bothered to ask who you were speaking with when I picked up.
    Him: Oh

    *click*

What kind of birdhouse can you build with popsicles, roofies, and a rubber mallet?

Been going on forever, the guys over on the Linux forums are having a blast with them. One guy said he was using an old modem and had to reboot it but be patient because it always made funny noises. Then he started banging pots and pans, flushing the toilet and running his drill.

Ya I boot up an old laptop I use for virus - antivirus - testing I use ubuntu with win xp in virtual box.

I let them login and tell me how bad my computer is (its actually a snapshot of a clean boot that isn't infected until I click run a *.bat file I made that starts about 6 nasties .. including a porn virus.

It takes them almost an hour to do their 'presentation' and installs. Then when they are almost done I quickly grab the mouse and run the batch file. They're like almost screaming omg what is this .. it sounds so funny to me with the Indian accent. I then tell them that they were right, the computer was infected now go ahead clean it. All I hear is ... click.

Funny thing is I have done this about 3 times now.
