I’m slightly jealous of you Marriott people. Sounds like their status actually has value.

My Hilton diamond is basically worth a bottle of water lol

Still loving my Scotiabank Scene AMEX. Since I started gift card stacking at Safeway my points are through the f'ing roof.

Amazon purchase? Buy giftcard at safeway and a container of milk. $500 at home depot? Same thing. All my gas at shell? Same deal.

Virtually all my retail dollars now earn me 5x scene points which is a good value.

Only downside is you cant transfer scene points anywhere.... I heard the Hyatt cards + real Amex points are good for that.

Very clever, gotta admire the hustle.

But what a pain in the ass using gift cards as cash sounds like.

Amazon cards are pretty simple, you can just load them into your account all at once, and then they spend automatically on each purchase.

    tell me more pls
    is there a limit?
i get 5x amex points per $ spent at groceries and restaurants but it maxes out at $2500 total purchases per month which is around my usual spend anyway
yes i do gift cards mainly shell and starbucks from safeway to get the 5x

i collect the amex points and transfer to aeroplan to try to get biz class flights for lowest redemption but with aeroplan devaluing the points the deals might not be as good moving forward. also feeling kinda buster these days as well aka travel is overrated lol

I assumed, like a LOT of things it was just the Canadian part that was shitty and the US did it way better

    Apparently not

There's also All-Inclusive Hiltons in Puerto Vallarta, that's what I was saving my points for until I had twins
