    Default wireless trigger help

Hey guys, so a couple days ago I've purchased a pair of cactus v5 wireless triggers to start playing around with off camera flash. Neither my d7000 or my d3100 have a pc sync plug in though or a 3.5mm jack. The SB700 fires and everything when paired with the reciever but my question is, the camera still lets me pick a shutter speed above 1/200, I just tested at the max shutter speed and it still fires but i don't think they sync up. Do I need to purchase a hot shoe adapter of some sort to plug that wire into or do I just manually not go over 1/200 shutter speed. I read the manual and it doesn't say anything about that unless my camera doesn't come with a hot shoe.

most DSLR flash sync is around 1/200, flash and camera will still shoot at anything faster but the faster the shutter, the more black band you will get.
1/250 is usable but you will have to crop some of the bottom.
at like 1/500 and 1/1000 then it's all black.

here's some articles you can read about it

the cacus V5s do not support high speed sync unfortunately so there is no way to rid of the curtain. Here is a good video on how high speed sync works

There are some cheaper triggers that will allow for high speed sync, I beleive Paul C Buff CyberSync will work. Otherwise you have to spend a little more for pocket wizards or comparable. My Mini TT1 and Flexx TT5's will allow me to sync all the way to 1/8000 and everywhere in between. Granted, you lose some light shooting that high but it will sync.

I dont shoot very often with a sync speed over 1/200 and if i do then chances are I am trying to overpower the sun and will have an ND filter on anyways. Lets say you are trying to shoot at 1/350 with your strobes maybe try putting that ND filter on when you buy it and that should allow you to keep your aperture and iso where it is but bring your shutter down to 200 so you can sync up!
