Looking for the same, my starter now barely works now and has like 2ft range. Half of the time it doesnt even respond and have to hold the button for 2+ mins. So looking to get it removed and put better one in for decent price but most shops I called want $500 +

Go to Joe at Autotech, does excellent Job, very clean installs.

i just got my compustar 2w901-ss installed at autotech. joe did finish before the estimated completion time of 2hrs. i wasn't aware that the price quoted to me over the phone was only if i paid in cash. i paid an extra $33 more than the quoted price because i paid with visa.

i guess i'm satisfied with the peace of mind that beyond speaks highly of this shop but i wish i was clearly made aware of extra charges that may be added on top of the "all in" quote.

i'll reserve my comments about the quality of the install for a later time as i've only had this system on my car for 2hrs.

    edit:

for you guys with this model alarm/starter, is it normal that the temperature sensor would take forever to match the actual temp in the cabin? for example, the remote is telling me that it's 28 degrees in the cabin but i've been outside with the engine off for 30mins now. thanks!

What sort of vehicle is this installed in?

Its probably running in tachless mode (either 3.5 second crank or voltage sensing) instead of an actual tach signal.

    Try this.
Go out to your vehicle. Start it by key.
Press and hold down the brake pedal.
Press the start button on your remote start.

Which of the following do you hear:

    1 single click.
    3 clicks.

all-in quote over the phone was $675. i paid $708 because the $675 price was only if i paid cash. $33 is not a big deal, just that i was not made aware that the lower price is if i'm paying cash.

It's called GST. He is not charging it, just collecting it. I've had Joe do 4 vehicles for myself and family and they all work great. Had a couple small issues and he took care of them right away. Good to know you can trust this place if something goes wrong with the starter down the road.

dont get me wrong, man. i'm happy with the install. like i said, i was told it's 675 all in, including gst. i'm not knocking him but just giving others a heads up to make sure that the price quoted is the price that you'll pay.

im going back there next week since the temp gauge doesnt seem to give me the correct temperature lol.

im pleased with the work they've done as well as the timeframe in which it was completed. as a matter of fact, i'm taking my parents' car there for their remote install.

Any updates to this? My last car I had done at Autodream, and they seemed good. I had AutoTech do some diagnostic work for me on a malfunctioning factory alarm once, and he seems pretty knowledgeable.

Quality install and after-sale service are important to me.

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned autodream seeing as how they're a sponsor here and all. I've had a few done by them and recently sent a friend there after getting some ridiculous quotes from other places. Price wise no one compares to autodream and service is top notch.

I was around that mark at autodream. Bought my own starter at visions ~200. Install, locks, security bypass, antigrind. ~ 400
