    Default Blue Nile

Has anyone bought an engagement ring off of the site before? I was dealing with a diamond wholesaler but didn't like the smaller inventory size to pick from.
Researched quite a bit and haven't seen much for bad reviews on them.
Have heard diamond guys hate bluenile because it takes the allure/mystery/price out of buying the stone.

Do it. Bought the engagement right and our wedding bands from there for a fraction of the local cost. Great site!

Same here. Found an awesome engagement ring and matching band for the wife. Nothing but great feedback from us.

Let's see what you're looking for.
Depending on what it is, I can get really close to BN pricing and sometimes beat them.

Yep, i did. Worked great. Go to spence diamonds first and pick out your band/style you want. Then go online and buy

+1 I bought mine from them saved over 10K. I first went to CJ and picked out the diamond I wanted and then I went to Spence and they didn't even come close to CJ's price. When I found the diamond at BlueNile I called CJ and asked them whether they can meet me half of the difference (Wanted to keep the money local) and they refused so I went with Bluenile.
    Good luck

Blue Nile had great prices, but are limited in the fancy/branded cuts. There are some other good sites out there if you looking to buy online. If you haven't already done so, head over to Pricescope and start reading.

If you think you need a branded cut to get an amazing looking diamond then I suggest you check out some BN rings in person. If you just want them for style, then yeah you'll have to look around.

I had a friend looking at BlueNile. I referred him to Justin @ Gem By Carati. He wound up with a great ring, awesome diamond, for roughly the same price. Better service, and he got to see the finished product.

Justin took good care of him.

EDIT: Since my (at the time) girlfriend lurks on beyond I lied about it being "a friend". This was about me. See my review here: http://forums.beyond.ca/st2/gem-by-c...onest-review/.

for those of you that purchased from bluenile, apparently when you purchase from the .ca website, it still gets shipped from the states. Has anyone had to pay extra for customs/duties, or is it all worked into the purchase price?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.
