Default Does anyone have comprehensive insurance on their rhd vehicle?

As the topic says I'm looking for a company that offers comprehensive insurance on an rhd vehicle, td meloche doesn't offer this coverage. I'm obviously looking for this coverage to cover me in the event of theft, hail and/or hitting an animal etc.

    thanks all

MOST companies don't offer it for new clients. I still have a couple of guys on the books that snuck them in before the insurance companies really figured out what to do with these things but that is it. They've been warned that if they ever take the vehicle off the policy and put it back on, no comprehensive (or collision for that matter), just PLPD.

I'm with meloche monnex and have comprehensive and even glass coverage on my Subaru sambar. I got in before the non comprehensive rules. That being said, just insured my Honda beat and they wouldn't give me anything more than plpd. Times they are a changing

This is news to me, why do insurance companies refuse to put comprehensive on RHD cars? I would love to hear the reasoning behind this?

Pretty impressive that Hagerty oked your RHD 300ZX.

Note in order to qualify for Hagerty...there are strict qualifications...ie.

•Usage: Vehicles insured in our program must be used on a limited basis consistent with the operation of something valuable, such as club functions, exhibitions, organized meets, tours and limited pleasure driving.
•Storage: Collector vehicles must be stored in an enclosed and secure structure when not in use. Qualifying storage locations include private residential garages, private pole buildings or barns and rental storage units.
•Driver Eligibility: Generally, one or two minor violations or accidents are acceptable for our program. We will not accept major violations such as any alcohol/drug violation or reckless driving which occurred within the last 3 years. Applicants and household drivers must have 10 or more years driving experience. All household driving records are subject to review by an underwriter.
•Regular-Use Vehicles: All licenced household drivers must have a regular-use vehicle for daily driving. Applicant must also maintain regular-use insurance in his or her own name. Motorcycles and public transportation are not considered regular-use vehicles for our program.

so if you have a pulsar and it hails and your hood and roof are effed how are they going to quote you on parts? how are they going to replace your parts, but then you will say what about rhd cars that have lhd replicas in north america?

all in all its just to big a hassle and going out of there way to fix your car. if anything they just write it off, once less rhd car for them to have to worry about. it blows i know...

so far no shops will look at my soarer to straighten my frame. its not like it matters whether your car is rhd, lhd, or freaking center drive. lots of places have policies against rhd vehicles.
