places to work on own car

So i have a bit of a dilemma here. I recently moved to Calgary about 4 months ago for a job and i'm currently renting out a property. I drove my car in from Manitoba and at the place I'm living in right now, I don't have a garage or private parking.

I need to do some mechanical work and I have my own set of tools/jacks/stands to do the job, but I just don't have a place to do it. I'd be okay working outside at any paved lot since it's only going to take me a few hours to do. Are there any free places where I can do work on my own car?

U-Wrench has floor space and hoists for rent. They also supply tools. It's a little run down but it gets the job done.
